Okay guys, I know they are refurbing the outdoor restaurant in Mexico. I heard it will be half TS, half CS. When is it supposed to open? What is the new name again? We'll be there the week of 10/11 and I wanted to book it, but only San Angel Inn comes up in the online booking system. Will they be taking ADR's, or just walk-ups?

I've only heard mixed reviews on San Angel Inn, so while our crew loves Mexican, I'm not sure we should eat there in lieu of the new place. If anyone can build my confidence on it, that would be great. I love the inside of the Mexico pavilion, and the noise level works for us b/c we'll have 5 kiddos in tow (two families).

I do know that La Cava rocks...tried it in March.

TIA! :goodvibes

Not sure , but the info out there has not been firmed up yet.No idea when they will start booking the new Mexican place, but not yet as far as I know

No you can't book it yet and probably won't be able to book it until they have a firm opening date!!! I also can't wait to try it as I :lovestruc Mexican food!

Hacienda de San Angel. It will be a CS for lunch and a TS for dinner (not clear on whether it will go all TS or only partial TS for dinner though). No bookings yet - the best estimate from any Disney source for ADRS is "July or August"

we just ate at the San Angel Inn the end of May all five of us enjoyed the food every much I would eat there again with out a thought, but it is all personal opinion. you might eat there and hate it.

Everything I keep reading says that it's suppose to be open for the start of food and wine, which starts Oct. 1.

I've not heard of the 1/2 ts/cs part, so that is new to me. We have been 3 trips this year and have passed this construction many times. I wondered if it was going to be 2 stories as it's very tall! They were working on the pier area that goes out over the water when we were there last month. I would guess that would be TS area as it would be very popular if it was a CS area for watching illuminations.

Wow! Thanks for all the quick replies! Great info. Now I remember "Hacienda de San Angel" as the name.

I am going to hang onto my San Angel Inn ressie for now - I'm sure it's worth a try! (Plus we can grab some margaritas from La Cava beforehand.:cool1:)

If and when they open up ADR booking for the new spot, I will be trying for a dinner ressie there. Getting so excited for our trip w/friends - we just booked yesterday! Thanks all! :flower3:

I find San Angel Inn gets beat up on a little too hard. It's overpriced average food, but easily one of the most interesting places to eat in the worlds (but, yes, loud).

However, while I usually defend it, I have to admit it's the one place (and I've eaten there three times in the last three years) where I ALWAYS see frustrated kids (either in my party or at the next table). Some parent will have to back me up on this, but I suspect it has some of the least kid-friendly fare around.
