 I am confused about Riverside vs. FQ. ARe trundle beds available in both locations? How do I know if I get a trundle bed and how much will it cost? We have 3 dds (ages 10,9, and 2). So we want the best location for them. I think the slide at FQ may be a little mild for the older two from what I can tell. How is the slide at Riverside? WE do plan on being there 2 weeks and only visiting the parks for 4 or 5 days so activites at the resort are very important as well. Thanks for all your advice!

I have stayed at POR four times and loved each visit. Even though I am from the south, I feel that the theming and grounds are lovely. As for the pool, my son is 6 and loved the pool at POR. My husband and I enjoyed it too! Regardles of the location, you'll have a wonderful time! :flower1:

In regards to the trundle beds, only Riverside in the Alligator Bayou has them, unfortunately. I would much rather stay at French Quarter, but with a family of 5, our choices are limited.

Trundle beds are only available in some of the Alligator Bayou rooms in PO-R. We loved staying in the Alliagator Bayou. Just make sure you ask for a room with a trundle, as not all rooms in Alligator Bayou have them.

Myself, DH and 3 DDs ages 12, 7 and 4 at the time, stayed at the Alligator Bayou 5/29-6/4 2004 b/c we have 5 in our family. I really wanted to stay in the Caribbean Beach but weren't allowed. Wasn't sure how I'd feel about thsi property but we loved it!! Had a corner room w/the trundle bed. DD12
slept on it--Heaven forbid she touch her sisters or have to share a bed w/them!! :earseek: We never made it over to the large pool so can't commit on the slide but really liked having the smaller pools close to our room. Made it easier for a quick swim at 10 after we got out of the parks.
The food at the Courtyard was great. Not a complaint one. Bus service was pretty good altho we did have to wait some. Kids loved it--I'd definitley go back there. Stayed at FQ in 9/01. Was also nice pool was great. Room avg hotel room. Its Disney.....you can't go wrong!!

We have stayed at both resorts and have enjoyed them both. As 2 adults w/o kids, I would have to say we would prefer the FQ because it is smaller and has a secluded spa. We will be staying at POR in 2 weeks because it had a discounted room available with a King bed and POFQ did not. As for finding things to do for 2 weeks with only 4 or 5 days in the parks, all I can say is good luck. The Moderate resorts at WDW are great, and we enjoy them immensely, but it might be hard to find something to do for 9 or 10 days unless the kids really enjoy the pool or are just into taking it easy. You might want to consider heading over to USF/IOA for a couple days. We didn't feel the same "magic" there as we do at WDW but they are both fun parks with plenty of things for your older kids (and the adults) to enjoy.
We were at POR in '99, when it was Dixie Landings, and I don't remember seeing a slide at the pool, although there may be one. The pool at the FQ has a nice slide for kids that looks like a giant sea serpent.
Enjoy your trip and don't miss Bob "The Piano Man" Jackson perform in the lounge at POR. He's a riot!

We just got back from POR and here is the low down. Only AB has trundle beds and I believe they run an extra $10 a nite. Since on DD is 2 then technically you can stay at any moderate including FQ because you are viewed as 4 instead of 5. That being said I have 2 DS's 14 & 15 and they love POR. THe food court there has more options then FQ and there is more to do for the family, fishing, Ol' Man Island pool, which does have a slide, baby pool and hot tub, surry bikes and carriage rides. FQ is just a short walk away so if you want to walk over and try the pool or the food court you can. There is also boat transportation to Downtown Disney which is nice. I have also tried CB and would not recommend staying there because of its huge size. As for the trundle bed my DS's did not like it and it was smaller then the average size bed so what we ended up doing on future trips is buying a twin size air matteress and pump at WalMart for $40 and bringing that to the room with my DS's own sheet. In the morning we just tilt it on its side and we have the floor room back. Good luck and I hope this helps. princess:

Thanks so much! It sounds like we don't have much choice but to go with an AB room. Our little one will have turned 3 by the time we go in August. I may look into 2 rooms at a Value resort but I can't believe they would be cheaper. It sounds like there is plenty for us to do at POR also. THanks for the responses! :D

Don't worry, you will like Riverside. We stayed in the AB section Bldg 15 and we were very close to the South Depot bus stop and the food court. It was great. You will love your visit there :)
