Confused about Patisserie at Epcot

The Patisserie in Epcot is listed on another thread here, as carrying certain items as snacks (like elephant ears, other pastries, etc.). However, I am a little confused...I thought that pastries in France were not included in the dining plan as a snack. Can anyone clarify this for me? Is there another location to get pastries in France that I should know about? I love French pastries (my favorite thing to eat when I actually was in France, along with the bread) and it would be nice to get some "real" ones, even if it means paying a couple of bucks OOP to have one and share it with DH.

So, is there more than one location that has them or is this the place?

There have been a couple of posts that seem to indicate that snack credits are accepted this year.

I have no firsthand knowledge but there has been more than one post that says the posters were able to use snack credits for pastries at Boulangerie. I do have firsthand knowledge that this was not permitted in 2007.

Tnoulhere was a poster that actually posted their receipt from Boulangerie. It showed they were allowed to use snack credits for pastries.

We just returned and I don't have a receipt to prove it, but we used 4 snack credits at the bakery in France on Tuesday, February 5th with no problems. We got an eclair, a strawberry tart, a chocolate mousse and a strawberry slushie drink all with snack credits. We all said it was the best use of snack credits for the whole week!!

We were also able to use snack credits there, unfortunately, they didn't let us use them for single serve lunch type of items under $4, like the quiche, sandwich and cheese plate.

Overall, there was a lot of confusion in the World Showcase for snacks, nothing was marked well.

I was there October 07. The group in front of me selected pastries, took them to the cashier, said they wanted to use snack credits. The cashier said they didn't take snack credits for pastries. The group walked out and left the pastries.

Saw the same thing again in December 07.

So it looks like they'll include pastries for '08, but not sandwiches or the cheese plate. Are those under 4 bucks?

Cheese Plate $5.95

Ham & Cheese Quiche $4.95

Ham & Cheese Sandwich $5.25

Everything....except the above items....appear to be under $4.00
