confused about mnsshp and admission

My husband and I will be taking our daughter to the Disney area in October this year. We aren't doing a whole Disney trip per say but we do want to take her to MNSSHP. The only thing I'm really confused about is how ticketing works. If I only want to go to the party (doors open at 4pm?) do I buy a general admission ticket and then a ticket to the party too? Or do I just buy a ticket to the party? I want to buy ahead of time but I don't want to spend more than I'm supposed to or not get all I need either.

You just need to buy a ticket to the party

Only a Party ticket if you won't be entering the Park until 4:00 PM.

The party starts at 7 PM but they have been allowing guests with party tickets (no other admission) to enter the park starting at 4. If you wish to enter the park before 4 PM you will need regular valid admission for that day IN ADDITION TO the party ticket.
