Confused about Meal Plan

Planning a trip to WDW in August. Staying 8 nights at CBR, but we are getting park passes for only 5 days. If we get the meal plan, would it be for 5 days - or 8 days.

This new system is really messing me up!

I think I know the answer to this.
First question though - did you get a package, or did you do hotel-only and get tickets separately? You can only get the meal plan if you bought a package.
That said, I believe the meal plan covers your entire stay. So if you bought 8 nights at CBR, if you want to add the MYW Dining Plan, you would have to pay for 8 days worth. That would come to $280 ($35x8) per adult and $80 ($10x8) per child. You would have until midnight on the day you check-out to use the meals on the plan.

...OR you can make 2 separate reservations.... one with the meal plan/tickets/hotel for the days you will be doing this and another room only ressie for the days you will not be in the parks. The meal deal can only be done with a package that includes the room and tickets.

Thanks folks. I just spoke with my TA, who was also very confused about it. We did buy a package, so if we get the meal plan, it is the $35X8 formula. She (my TA) said many people are confused about this, and the new way they are doing everything.

Any feedback on the plan's value would be appreciated....did you think it was a good idea to purchase, or not worth it?

If you check out the restaurants board there are lots of threads on this topic. We just got back on Sunday and used the plan for a 7 day stay. We loved it. If you usually eat two meals in the parks or resort, I think it's worth it. We saved about $150 over the course of the week, with the best values at CRT (dinner) and Kona Cafe (dinner).
