Confused about mardi gras + park hours times.

Okay, someone said here that the parade starts at 8:00 p.m.
If I buy the after 5:00 p.m. mardi gras ticket for a weekday,how many hours will I get for the rides? 2 hours? If the park closes on a weekday at 7:00 p.m. and the parade starts at 8:00 p.m., what do you people do for one hour? ( 7:00pm - 8:00pm ) Eating time? Visit citywalk?

As you can see I am a very confused visitor, please help!

When we were there last Saturday, the park closing time was 7 pm. However, we saw people going in to Shrek and Terminator WAY after 7. I did ask and was told the rides and shows would be closing at 7, along with the park, but saw no evidence of anything closing before 8.

Mardi Gras and the parade only occurs on Saturdays.

Saturdays only? I did not know that mardi gras is a Saturdays event only.I am guessing that the concerts are also on Saturdays only?
Saturdays are way to full to visit the park just for the Mardi grass event, or
I am missing any other type of entertainment like fireworks, for the Mardi gras event during weekdays?

Yep, concerts are only on Saturdays, too. I'm pretty sure there aren't any other special Mardi Gras events during the weekdays. Sometimes the characters might throw out a few beads when they are riding around the park, but I believe that's about it....unless anyone else knows about anything else? I wish they had it more than just once a week but they don't.
