Could someone please clarify for me? I'm reading about people having left over credits and I don't really understand how that happens? Everyone keeps talking about how much food it is...but really really only eat TWO times a day plus ONE snack, right?! How does that not get used?

Since CS and TS include and appetizer and dessert...can you save those for later or no...do you have to get the full meal and that time? does that make sense? thanks!

Karen

It is usually snack credits that don't get used. We used up all of ours, however we did use some of the snack credits on the day we checked out to take with us on the road.

It is a good bit of food at each meal, as you get dessert with both the table service meal and quick service. Also with the table service everyone gets appetizer, entree and dessert.

You can't not save your desserts or appetizers for later. They have to be ordered at the same time as the entree.

We did get our desserts to go, if you have time to take it back to your room and have a frig.

My informal observation is that the larger the group or the more kids there are, the more likely there are to be unused credits when the end of the trip rolls around. It just happens. Someone just may not be hungry when the group decides to eat a meal and they end up getting something smaller out of pocket later rather than use the credit, thinking it'll get used somewhere down the line, and it doesn't. I'd also imagine that people who get the DDP for free are also somewhat less likely to make sure and use all their credits.

We always have leftovers because we are never hungry. Sometimes we will split a CS credit for lunch, esp. if our dinner ADR is early. Then we don't get around to using it, this is the same for snacks, no one ever seems to want a snack especially with a desert with your CS and desert with dinner. We are DVC members so have a kitchnette, so will have fruit and pastries in the room for breakfast. Sometimes we go out for breakfast and pay OOP, then no one wants lunch again or a snack. You really have to space your meals out. When we are on a 12 night trip, that is alot of credits. Sometimes we cancel our TS meal because no one is hungry then we are left with extra TS credits....yikes....last trip (in May) this happened so we canceled a TS ADR and rebooked a 2TS meal just to use up the extra credits. Having leftover credits seem to happen more if your trip is longer. On our last 2 days of our trip in May we had 7 CS credits and 12 snack credits to use. We ate breakfast with CS credits and used some credits to buy sandwiches for the plane. As for the snack, we used them for office gifts of cookies and fudge. By mid trip I'm usually threating hubby with, you'll get a snack today and you'll like it.

We had leftover credits because we split meals. It was too much food so we would split a meal and then have those credits left.

After reading so many posts about too much food and left over credits, I got creative and planned out everything. My family of three shared two TS credits (either 1 adult & 1 child or 2 adults ) and ordered an extra app or entree out of pocket. We shared 2 adult breakfast platters each day and we each used our snacks either for ice cream each day or at Goofy's Candy Store making our own pretzel sticks or oreo cookies. We had plenty of food each day but were never overly stuffed where we wanted to skip a meal. If you get creative, you can really maximize the DDP and experience many more restaurants. Look at allears.net ahead of time and plan a little. Have a great trip

Keep in mind that it is a lot of 'desserts' in my opinion - which are high calorie and very filling. Think about it - your CS dessert for the day might be a piece of chocolate cake....plus in the summer I usually use a snack credit on ice cream (but we split so not everyone is using a credit) - then the TS - well, here I might get an ice cream sundae or at a buffet - lots of options. Really - these items I listed PROBALBY are enough by themselves for one day. But I do eat more.

I have a friend coming with me this year and she wants to get the makings for chocolate chip cookies...and to me (who has had the DP before) I can't imagine sitting in the room WANTING another dessert-type thing. It's way more than I have ever as it is.

Also - we could use all ours likely if we wanted 3 meals a day in a restaurant or food court. We generally bring cereal with us and eat some breakfasts in the room - it is a LOT quicker than bringing two little ones into the food court to eat so we get to the park more quickly.

I think we had left over credits because we were there so long (8 nights) and because it was hot. A few times one of us was not feeling well at lunch and didn't use their CS credit. Then later they just ate a snack before dinner.

Also we would order bottles of water for drinks at CS and we would carry those around with us afterwards. So we were not using snack credits for drinks. I was surprised at how difficult it was to use 8 days worth of snack credits for 4 people. When we go back in Nov we are not going to try to maximize our snack credits and whenever we buy anything that is eligible we're using a snack credit!

It's happened to us twice, now. We left a 7 night stay with one CS and 8 snacks left. Most days we ate character breakfast buffets around 10am and shared 2 cs meals around 3pm and 1 cs meal around 7pm. When I purchased the DDP, I expected to have to buy some supplement cs meals, but we just weren't hungry enough to need it.

Since we had so many snack credits left, I was planning on using them before we left to pick up MM candy bars (or something) to give to friends as souvenirs, but we ran out of time on the last day and I never made it to a store to "buy" them.

we're expectig to have left over credits because were spending 2 days at universal, one at seaworld, one at busch, one at discovery cove and one at the florida mall and will be eating OOP while were there.

The only thing we had left were snack credits, but we did not waste them. There were 5 of us and we used all TS and CS credits and had many a take home dessert for later from CS(we were at OKW so we had kitchen facilities). On check-out my 2 sister were flying home to NH and my DH, DS and I drove from Boston and were stopping for 2 nights in Savannah. We had 8 snacks left and used them in the general store for ice tea, soda, cookies, pretzels, candy, chips for the ride. We could use them for anything under $4 so it worked out great!

First it was only Me and DW this time, kids off to college so we were not sharing meals among a bunch of us and we love to eat. Snack credits seem to be the easiest to use and you wonder how could you have any left? We figured we would use these credits up and would not have any left for the last few days. Wrong!! :confused3 What we did was saved up a bunch of $1 bills and used these in the parks for water and soda.
Using 1 snack credit for a box of donuts at the resort for breakfast, these sometimes lasting for 2 breakfasts, then eating a counter and a table service you were never hungry and never thought of getting a dole whip or a Mickey bar, you were just so full. We did manage to use a few SC at our favorite snack place Kringla Bakery in EPCOT and even a few at the Wine and Food Fest but at the end of 7 nights we had 3 snack credits left but these were easily used the last day for 3 boxes of cookies for the trip home. But we never expected to have any left. By the way TS and CS easily used up.

This Sept. doing 9 nights but will get one of those dole whips no matter what.

We had 4 leftover CS credits left in October last year..... the reason being is on day 1, we ended up eating @ Beaches and Cream for dinner instead of a CS restaurant like I'd originally planned to do. I didn't want to use any TS credits for Beaches and Cream so I used some of our Disney Visa Reward points (so it was like a free meal anyway :rotfl: ).... this left us with 4 unused CS credits at the end of the trip....this time though, we'll be shy 4 CS credits so we'll have to pay OOP for the last CS meal .... :goodvibes

Can you use TS credits to pay for everyone at the table even if they are staying in another room. We have two friends coming with us and I would like to treat them to dinner if we can.

I know I will never use all this food for us. We don't eat that much and usually only do a few sit down meals while we are away.

If I can't pay for their meals, I will probably pass on the plan but I would really like to try it.

You cannot purchase meals for others using your DDP credits, they are not transferable, sorry!
