Is the Haunted Mansion redone for Halloween, Christmas, or both?

Can I have the exact dates?

Thanks!

It's both in that it's Jack Skellington which is based on the movie The Nightmare Before Christmas which is a mash-up of Halloween and Christmas. The dates for the overlay are Sept. 16 - (at least) Jan. 8.

Wow- I didn't kow it ran that long- thanks!

Yeah, because it covers both holidays, Disney uses it for the Halloween season and the Christmas season. There's only a 2 week break in between the two big holiday seasons, so the overlay stays up for 2 1/2 - 3 months. I believe HM will go down right after that Jan. 8 date to have the overlay removed. Since it goes up first before Small World which is done up only for the Christmas season, HM goes down first when the season is over.

It doesn't always run all the way to January 8th. The holiday season is officially extending to 1/8/12 this time around, so we're assuming Haunted Mansion Holiday will stay open until then too.

Haunted Mansion Holiday usually stays up through the first Sunday after New Year's Day. It's just that in 2012, the first Sunday after New Year's Day is one full week later, whereas for the last several years that Sunday been much closer to New Year's Day.

Haunted Mansion Holiday gets its overlay removed before the It's a Small World Holiday overlay is removed. IASW Holiday generally (quietly) stays open until after Martin Luther King Day, though I'm not sure if it, too, will close immediately following 1/8/12.

Thank you again, everyone,!! My daughters are begging me to take them to this! They have the special edition dvd with all the details about how cool this is....

It really is an amazing experience. We went 13 years ago and have been talking about it ever since. We're so excited to finally be able to do it again this year.

I love, LOVE Haunted Mansion Holiday. I'm not sure we can ever go back any time other than Christmas now LOL.

Love HMH! My family likes it so much more than HM. We go on it at least twice a day at the holidays.

How many days does it take for the decorations to be removed on IASW & HHM? We are headed down stating Friday, January 13th & I am wondering if these 2 attractions will be reopened by then.

I'm not sure of how many days, but I think Haunted Mansion/Haunted Mansion Holiday will be closed when you arrive. The holiday season is ending later than normal - January 8th - and if Haunted Mansion Holiday stays up until January 8, I don't think it would be open again as Haunted Mansion in 5 days. Now, Disneyland could be sneaky and pull a fast one on us - they could decide to close HMH earlier than 1/8. Just when I think we have their patterns figured out, they go and switch things up on us!:rotfl2:

As for IASW Holiday, if history repeats itself, this ride should still be open when you arrive on 1/13 (even though the holiday season ends on 1/8/12). In the last 2 or 3 years, IASW Holiday has remained open until after Martin Luther King Day, but it's not well-publicized or advertised. Disneyland tends to not want Haunted Mansion and It's a Small World to be down at the same time while the overlays are removed, so they do them one at a time.
