Confused about Fantasmic dining

Hi there... I booked a reservation for Mama Melrose and then later discovered there is a different type of reservation for the Fantasmic Tickets. Sorry to be ignorant but if I got normal dinner reservations for Mama Melrose at 6:30, will they give me tickets or is that a different type of reservation I need to make? Thanks!

You need to book a Fantasmic package to get the tickets at your meal. You can't get it just for booking a meal. I have called Disney to get this package it used to be you couldn't get it online. I don't know about right now.

I think it may be more $ to reserve it than the regular restaurant but they don't charge it if you show up, it's just to hold the reservation.

Of course, Fantasmic is free with your admission ticket to HS. You don't need to get a Fantasmic dinner package to see it. The theater is huge so there is plenty of seating and everyone can see from every seat.

The biggest advantage to the package is not having to line up for so long to get into the show. It's a must for me! I hate waiting in line and with the package you have to be there 30 minutes before and are in a roped off section. However, the seats aren't special in any other way. It's just the wait is less. But that is HUGE for me!

Well phooey I can't access the dates for the dinner package online. We are going in June so I know it's going to be packed. We only booked last week so I feel behind in all of our reservations, I hope we don't get locked out of everything!

Thanks for clarifying :)

You should be able to book online.
I just picked a random date in June (25th) and looked at both available lunches and dinners at DHS. There were Fantasmic Dinner Packages available, though the time choices were limited.

I wonder why I can't see that... I select any of the 3 restaurants and all of the dates are grayed out. For time it says "Call for availability"

I'm not sure if you've already tried this but you have to search for Fantasmic - not for Mama Melrose - to get the package.

Yes I did indeed do that :( I am going to try to call tomorrow. Thanks everyone!

Not sure. This is what I did. I went to the dining reservations page. On the top left, where it says all parks and resorts, I checked off DHS. Then, I picked the date, a meal (but not a time) and then put in 4 people. Not sure how many in your party. I did not search for a particular restaurant, only narrowed it down to the park and it showed me the Fantasmic Dining Package as an option. It was second on the list - under 50's prime time.
I just tried Mon. the 23rd since it is a non-recommended day due to evening EMH and they only had dinner at Brown Derby. But, they had lunch available at MM.

Definitely call. Sometimes special dining things don't show on the website. Lovely glitches. :lmao: Couldn't hurt to ask.

Search from the main page, not the specific package page. I noticed that the fantastic package page was only letting me search 90 days in advance, but from the main page, I could search the full 180. Be aware, however, that most reservations for Star Wars Weekend are booked solid.

That's interesting you point that out... based on your comment I just realized I'm seeing a lot of things only 90 days out and our trip is over 100 days out. I'm on hold with the internet help desk right now to see why that is. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks again for this advice! After being on hold with tech support for 30 minutes they informed me that I'm using the correct browser, but there are multiple ways to make reservations, some of which schedule 180 days out and others 90... what the heck?!?!?! So basically he told me the preferred ways of accessing the dining reservations in order to "trick" the website into working. Figure it out Disney!!!

I spent two hours, on only five meal reservations, this morning, trying to get the silly system to:

1.) open up the 180+10 booking window, and yes I have my resort reservation confirmation number linked to MDE.

2.) trick the system into opening up booking for Fantasmic Dinner Package beyond the 90 day window it tried to give me the first four ways I attempted to book.

3.) recognize my DDP credits meant that I did NOT have to pre-pay for the Hoop Dee Doo.

4.) get a reservation for Be Our Guest. Finally gave up trying to book for five and booked a reservation for six and voila, there were available seats. I nabbed them.

A BILLION dollars was spent on all the "upgrades" which were supposed to include a better on-line system and superior guest interaction. Instead they have a MONSTER which leaves a serious Dis Veteran almost in tears and takes up more than two hours of "tricks" and "backing out and then back in again" to set up some reservations.

Until they get this beast straightened out I CANNOT recommend a Disney vacation to any Newby vacationers. There is no way a vacation of this cost should come tethered to this kind of run around, incompetence, and frustration.

Can anyone tell me how to "trick" the dining reservations to show Fantasmic or Hoop Dee Doo Review beyond 90 days? Thanks
Nevermind...I just went back and actually read the posts...LOL
Thanks Supersnoop!!!
