Confused about DL Dining - need assistance

Hi

We are regualr DVC members to DW.

DL dining is confusing!

We were lucky enough to get a 3 bedroom grand villa - where we'll have 9 people. But we can't make any reservations online for our 9 people??
The max seems to be 6. Also with DW theres a number to call for dining - I tried that for DL and it doesnt seem to be active.
Just confused why they would take a reservation for 9 people in hotel - but not have a way for us to all eat togther??

Any help would be appreciated!

You can try making 2 reservations around the same time (like for 5 and 4) and then go to the restaurant and see if they can seat you together or at least near each other. To make the 2 reservations, you’ll likely need to use 2 Disneyland accounts.

This is exactly what we had to do when we went with a party of 9. Super annoying!! And each restaurant was weird about combining us, but eventually they did. It wasn’t very convenient. I hope you’re able to get what you want!

The DL dining line has not been brought back since the pandemic.

I had this problem a couple years ago, with our group of 8. When I went to make the ADR at 60 days, I was actually able to make a couple reservations for 8, but those reservations for 8 disappeared extremely quickly (like within the first hour or less of ADR's opening). Even reservations of 6 can be difficult unless you reserve near the beginning.

For whatever reason, they just don't allow that many reservations with lots of people in them.

The solution to combine two smaller reservations works in most restaurants, and the CM's will do their best to sit you near each other, or in some cases, even combine the tables together, but as always, no promises.

also Disney dining reservations tend to favor even number of parties

Where do you want to eat? Disneyland Dining is much different than WDW. It is more about counter service.
