So...I've been researching and I'm confused...

Is Be Our Guest character dining?

And is breakfast counter service?

It seems pricy if it is only counter service and no characters. Worth it still???

Quick Service for breakfast & lunch no character. Dinner has Beast in a separate area that you meet him for a quick photo after dinner.

Also and breakfast and lunch you can chose to seat wherever you want (and thus can piece together reservations if you can't get one for your whole party) but dinner is waiter service.

As others pointed out the beast is usually available to meet at dinner but he is not guaranteed.

Disney is confused too ........... regarding BOG.

Eaten all three. In it's current state I think lunch is the best value, gives you full access and choice of table. All you lose is the Beast, assuming he's there.

Thank you for the clarification.

I can't see spending that much for a quick service breakfast and no characters. Dinner sounds like a better value based on the menu and (possible) Beast meeting.

BOG is new since we were there last, but based on this info, I won't be crushed if we skip it. I'd probably be more crushed if we went and the Beast didn't show up. :(

Not a guarantee of course but we have had dinner at BOG at least eight times and the Beast has been there every time.

I ate both dinner and lunch there last week and was very impressed with or dinner and not all that excited about the lunch food. The Beast was there and we actually had quite a nice meet and greet with him, much longer than the short ones we usually get at character meals. Maybe we just got lucky.

The Beast is scheduled to be there every night. He'll walk through the restaurant at regular intervals, and then has the meet and greet in a separate room.

It's not like it's hit or miss -- where him being there is something "special," and he might or might not show up. Unless there's an unforeseen problem, he should be there. (But, as PP noted, it can happen. But, it would be quite unusual.)

The thing to keep in mind is that the T&C when you book BOG says explicitly that it is not a character meal.

What this really means is that if Beast should not be there some evening, they won't compensate you for it like if you went to a character meal and there were no characters. They are explicitly stating that if Beast doesn't show, not an issue because it's not a character meal.

Is Be Our Guest character dining?
. . . no
. . . the Beast is at one location during dinner
. . . this is an area as you exit the restaurant, and he does not circulate to tables
. . . plus, he is not guaranteed to be there
. . . frequently his "crew" members are not working or absent, and he does not come out for guests
. . . since this is not a character meal, there is no refund or compensation if he is not there

And is breakfast counter service?
. . . yes
. . . breakfast and lunch are QS
. . . dinner is TS

. . . not to me, and many others

I didn't care for the breakfast but I thought the dinner was good im not running back

We only did it because we were on QSDP and it was a good use of a credit for breakfast. I was underwhelmed by the food, service, and atmosphere though, and this is coming from someone who loves Beauty and the Beast. I have no desire to go back, and would certainly not pay out of pocket for breakfast there. For a little more money, you can go to Crystal Palace and get an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet and all the Pooh characters. Much better bang for your buck, IMO.

I have heard that dinner there is a completely different experience though. I can't speak to that. I just know there are other menus at other restaurants that appeal to me more for dinner.

I did breakfast there and wasn't impressed either. We pre-ordered and the food was lukewarm.

Now I'm bummed.

I couldn't manage to get a dinner reservation, so I did breakfast before the park opens. I don't want to be disappointed with it, but the lunch menu looked gross, so we picked breakfast instead.

Would REALLY enjoy meeting the Beast though.

I don't know about the breakfast but I can compare lunch and dinner. The dinner was amazing. Fantastic service, gorgeous setting (we were in the rose garden and it was so quiet and lovely), delicious food, and then we had a great meet with the Beast. This was one of my favorite dining experiences of our whole trip. Then we did lunch 2 days later and the food was not very good and we just weren't impressed at all. It was definitely a very different experience. We would absolutely go back for dinner but not sure we will for lunch.
