In past years Disney always sent a letter a month before your AP's were due to expire reminding you to renew, and offering a little better price for the renewal. I did not get a letter & Us3 (Sonya) told me they quit doing that.

Now heres my question:

When I log into the Disney website, I cannot find any prices on renewing the AP's. There are only the standard choices available to anyone. Are they no longer doing a Fla. Resident AP renewal price? IIRC, it was about $20 less to renew than to buy a regular Fla. Res. AP. Anyone know anything? My pass expired yesterday & I want to make sure I get the best price available.

According to All Ears here are the Florida Resident AP Pricing:

FLA-Res Annual $382.34
FLA-Res Annual Renewal $345.06
FLA-Res Premium Annual $510.14
FLA-Res Premium Annual Renewal $462.21
FLA-Res Seasonal $254.54
FLA-Res Seasonal Renewal $224.72
FLA-Res After 4 Epcot Annual $137.39
FLA-Res After 4 Epcot Annual Renewal $126.74
FLA-Res After 2:00 p.m. Water Park Annual Pass $62.84

For ALL ticket pricing, check out this link:

We got our letter yesterday. Ours expire 12/20. A regular AP renewal for us is 456. It went up this year. I think it was about 430 last year.

Deb- My passes expire this month too. I received two of the letters offering the discounted renewal price. I was thinking about waiting, as there are some offers floating around out there that might be worth taking advantage of before I renew the passes again.

There apparently is a brand new offer for Florida residents that includes a free water park pass with an annual pass renewal. Here is a link:

If you check that offer out, let us know if it is offered for a renewal of a seasonal pass, or if it is only good for new passes or renewals of premium passes.

Deb, when did I say that? We've only had our passes for less than a year and the first time we renew them will be in April. I sure hope they still offer a discount for renewing...we probably wont renew if they dont!

Just make sure you do renew no later than 30 days from when it expired or you will no longer qualify for the renewal price. Sometimes, depending on when your next trip is, it pays to let it go and get a new one on your next trip. I sure do miss the old days when you could get the renewal and the clock started when you first used it.

I'm not wanting to hi-jack your topic, but does anyone think they might lower any of the tickets prices.

Am I understand this correctly? :confused3 You mean it's not like when you purchase the original..it didn't expire until a year from the first day of use?... Renewal expires a year from the day you renew it..whether you use it or not?

phyllis,
in the old days, before disney discovered the loophole, say your pass expired in january. You renewed in January and got your renewal "voucher", HOWEVER, your new renewal didn't take affect til your first use! so you still got the renewal price and didn't waste all those unused days. disney discovered they were losing too much money that way i guess.

now, if it expires in january, you still can get the voucher at the cheaper renewal price but once you turn it in whether it is january or MAY, it is retroactive to the january expiration date, which totally stinks. that is why i say look at your trip dates and decide whether it is worth it or not to save the extra dollars or BUY the time by just waiting til your next trip and pay the extra and get a NEW one.

Lower isn't in their vocabulary. You have a better chance of seeing Elvis than that.

Disney needs to get hit hard with the economy like everyone else has, still, they will never lower anything. its probably a big sacrifice for them to offer the buy 4/get 3 free promo. Even that is probably to their benefit somehow, i doubt they'll ever lose money.
they foresaw the economy going down, probably why the ticket prices were raised earlier this year. Their idea of "lowering" is probably just having the ONE price increase per year instead of two.

I renewed my son's seasonal pass when we were there the week of Halloween and we did get the discount. I also got the letter in the mail for his and mine and dh

If you purchase the renewal passes, your expiration date stays the same year after year.

If you purchase new passes, your expiration date is one year from date of purchase.

I renewed my annual pass in July to a Premium AP. It actually had expired in early June and they gave me the discount but the new one expires in June as well. I didn't have time to figure out what would have been cheaper. Keep the discount or have that extra month. Probably didn't work in my favor I'm sure.

well, if you purchase new, it is one year from date of purchase only if you buy the actual pass and activate it the same day. most times, if you buy it at guest relations, you're going to walk over and activate it at the turnstiles that same day. if you buy it online NEW, you will get a voucher to take on your next trip and THAT first use is your new date. you can also pick up an online NEW at will call if there's no time to mail the voucher.

Deb, when did I say that?
I thought you & I spoke about it on Halloween at your place. Wasn't it you who said they were no longer sending renewal letters? Perhaps it was a group discussion & I just thought it was you??? I'm old, ya know!

DH & I are going to go to Guest Relations at Epcot Friday. I'll get the scoop then. I have to renew one way or the other so I can go to the WWW dinner at the Biergarten on Saturday nite!!:thumbsup2 Our AP's serve as our Christmas, Birthday and Anniversary gifts to one another and have done so for about 15 years now. That way, we don't have to worry if we "got the right gift" - cause we got it right the first time!:cutie: Thanks everyone for your input, and TCD - I'll ask about the water park. We love T.L., but can't justify an extra $120 for the premium just to go to T.L. 2 or 3 times a year.

Wasn't me, but I'm glad to know how it all works! :thumbsup2

And anyone who can make up Halloween songs for the kiddo's like that is FAR from being old!! ;)
