Hello everyone. I'm thinking of going to visit Mickey this Christmas. Here's the plan. 3 days at Pop and 1 day at WL. Here is the question. I want to go on the 19th of December because it will be value season and I only have to take DD out of school one day early. If I go to WL on the last day will I have to pay holiday prices for WL? I'm normaly not that cheap as my husband can attest too. We just been spending too much lately. After reading all the threads about new pricing it might be the last time we get to stay in Disney around Christmas. Advice, suggestions? And do you think the WL is worth the extra money? I could tell my husband that it'll be my birthday and anniversary and christmas gifts :lmao: . Thanks in advance.

Yes, your 3 nights at the POP would be value season and your 1 night stay at the WL would be a the holiday rate. If you were staying all 4 nights at the WL then the value rate would apply for the entire stay, however, since your last night is at a different resort it will be a separate reservation and the higher rate will apply.
If it were me, I'd say the entire 4 nights at the WL. The cost per night during the holiday season for the WL will be about $400 for a standardview, for the entire 4 nights at the WL, starting your dates at the value season would be aout $900 for a courtyard view. So your stay at the POP and WL for a total of 5 nights will be just over $600, for $300 more you can stay the entire week at the WL.

If the rumors of change are true, then the OP would have to pay holiday rates for POP, beginning on the 20th, which is when holiday season begins. Plus, weekend rates will probably be higher.

See thread below:

To the OP: If these rumors are true, you would be better off staying your first night at WL at value season rates, then move to POP on the 20th.

Changes in rates are supposed to happen in 2008. So it wouldn't be a problem for this year.

Ok. Just got off the phone with the CM. I'll be staying at the WL from Dec 19 thru the 21 checking out on the 22nd. They only had court view available and club level. Now I have to tell my husband:lmao: . I put in my deposit.

You'll really enjoy your stay at WL....hopefully you'll find it worth the extra money...we stayed there one year @ Christmas and loved it. We have also stayed at other times and it's my family's favorite.

My only observation about your post initially was that I'm not a huge fan of splitting stays, especially when it's for a short visit. With my kids, it was more hassle getting them to clean up and pack up for a move than it was worth. Then we got to do it again before we left for home. I'd rather just relax and enjoy being in one place for the duration!

Have a great time!! We're still debating a trip in December!!

I wouldn't bank on that. In the current edition of the DIS Unplugged they mention a confirmed source say that the change in the "Rate at check-in is the rate for the stay" policy would be active for any future reservations after the change is announced. What seems likely to debut for 2008 is the weekday/weekend pricing structure. At this point, if the reservation isn't on the books, nothing is certain.

We were splitting our stay back in March this year and we didn't find any problem. The CM transfer our luggages and by the time we went back to the hotel, all the luggages were inside the room. We will be splitting our stay this Christmas at AKL for 3 nights and PORS for 8 nights. :thumbsup2

Good for you!! I hope you love WL as much as I do. I hope my earlier post wasn't misleading. I'm not going back until next year, so I've got 2008 rate information on the brain.
