Confounding Prices

Hey Gang,

I posted on the Resorts Section the other night. But it never made it out to the forum at large.

I've been going to Disney for over 20 years. And during that time I've seen the prices at the Disney Resorts steadily rise. However, as we head into this Fall, all of the prices have dropped dramatically. I mean, $49 for All Stars, $79 for Caribbean Beach, $150 for Contemporary, what gives?

I'm extremely excited at the possibilities. But hey, anybody have information on what brought this on?

Thanks in advance!

Hey fellow Alabamian! Not sure how far back they started discounting but the Allstars you gave are comparable to last October. We were going to stay there last year during "value" season at that rate but got a camper instead and now we go to FW. :p

We got the $49.00 rate at ASMo in 2000, 2001 & 2002. It was always during value season.

Hey,

Maybe I've just been going at the wrong times.

I've gotten the Annual Passholder deals for several years running. But somehow I never saw deals as good as the ones you all are getting.

Oh, and FW Camping? It doesn't get better than that!!

Say do y'all ever rent the golf carts? How much do they run?

We went to CBR in 2001 and 2002, always get a King room, and it has always cost us about 109.00/night including tax. This year we are staying there a few days and it is costing almost the same, $110.00/night. These prices have always been during value season.

Yes, this is more inline with what I've found.

So you weren't able to find the advertised $79 at CBR for this year?

Disney seems to have learned the lesson that if you're not filling the rooms at regular prices, offer a discount and fill them up. Once folks are on Disney property they will spend money there. Form their perspective better that they get your travel $$ than someone else. And a full room is a happy room. Targeted discounts, attached to a PIN# as these email rates are, are good bcs you don't have to offer them to folks who have already booked (at least from the Company's perspective).

As a Disney stockholder I am glad to see this too.

Yes, and in heneral, Fall is a great time to go in terms of prices and crowds, especially September.
