Conflicting availability from MS

I am trying to rent points for 9/2-9/7. I have received several responses many of them with conflicting availability. I really want BWV or BCV. Many people have told me that neither is available for my time frame but one other told me there is availability. Can it be possible for several people to call MS and get conflicting availability?

Maybe the person who says there is availability already has a ressie. It would just be a matter of changing the name on it. If your inquiries skirted the 30 day mark, there may have been more availablity after that because people cancelled before their points went into holding.

But you're right, either there is or there isn't. But the reservation system is always in flux!

In a nutshell, yes, but for those dates, either that person already has a confirmed reservation or they got really lucky.

With all that said, if they did not book it on the spot, availability will have changed again when they call back.

Availability is fluid, it changes with every second, every call.

If you are talking about THIS year, I think you'd better call CRO. No DVC owner in their right mind would rent a ressie two weeks out unless you wire-transferred the full amount, completely non-refundable, prior to them making the ressie.

Unless they were in a situation where a sudden change in circumstances meant that they couldn't use points they booked. In which case, change the name, you have little to lose.

Just a little warning, I've had someone in MS who refused to change the name on the ressie for whatever reason. I had to hang up and call back to get someone else to do it.
I'm not sure what is the policy on name changes but that CM was really sure that they are not allowed to change ressie name and we're supposed to cancel and then remake the ressie.

That's true, but I'm wondering just how distressed those points would be. What do you think...about $3 per point?

What size unit are you renting? I'm on the waiting list for a studio at BCV for a couple days during that time frame. I was also on the waiting list for a BW view studio, but I finally just gave up on that one. I'd be very surprised if you get one.

Recently? My niece is getting married, so we can't make our intended trip. I had to change the name on a reservation... just Fri, no problem whatsoever.

I was told the 2nd is fully booked for a studio at all resorts
