Confirming reservation and requesting views

Hi guys. Do you call the hotel directly or do you call reservations when you want to just double check your ressie before you arrive and request a view? I'm not quite sure and I'd appreciate your help!

Call the hotel directly. If you go thru a planning number or 800 the message that you want to impart may no get to the approprate person.
