lol........Silly me!!

I have the same book!! SSShhhh!!! ha ha.."thinking" the same thing stepdisney.....thought I'd have DH "stay" at a DVC resort.....I am so Dis Sinister...lol...he is not for DVC...we are seasonals in a lovely campground/resort in WI....I would be totally pushing it....lol..Will go look at my book tonight THanks my friend!!

Ktink, my DS(6) has his graduation on the 8th it seems like just yesterday.... BWI is a nice resort... I just read a thread on upsells (had never heard of them until today) perhaps.... nah, stay where you are. How many days has it been since your last change? Stay ON the wagon, ON the wagon ktink.

Disneybride, we were looking for vacation property and had almost settled on Mariott but we are thinking maybe DVC. Don't you loooove the pictures they have of the projected AKLV? The pool looks like a little water park. My DH is just "thinking" about it. (I'd be happy to get him to change to AKL). I think the villa is a great idea since you do have the free DDP and you will have lots of left-overs. Also, with you little one, the room will be great since you may come in early. That way you don't have to shhh shhh if she falls asleep. I wonder if they have a balcony where you can view wishes?

I did it! Called CRO.. we are now at the Villas...in a studio

Makes sense...a bit more room with just the one bed....and the little kitchenette. Not sure abt the views....some pool views are there with the wood views...I requested pool..so no snackies now...sorry

THere are balconies..except obviously ground floor. DId consider that since if there are grassy areas, we can sit outside and let her play...however, a higher floor may get us a better view.
THe AKL villas looks amazing!!! WOW...they are really trying to sell SSR more than AKL...but SSR seems to be in a remote location. If I bought into DVC, I would want the "home" to be somewhere near a park, or a resort you would be able to stay at and enjoy the amenities w/o ever leaving. And thats AKL.Not to e off topic....there are alot of resale's that look good too.
But not in our immediate future, thats for sure! Hey at least your DH is "thinking" abt it
So any other changing going on?

Okay,

I just sifted through many threads on transportation about resorts and the best transportation. While I like the location of WL more than the theme, I have beene reading that transportation is not so good. I've been reading that the transportation takes a loooong time to all parks except MK. I also heard that all other busses stop at FW or GF. I have also heard that the busses at AKL were really great and that there is little to no wait because they don't share with anyone. My DS is preoccupied with baseball so I could possibly convince him on this because of the amount of time we would need for transportation. Should I just change and explain later?

Disneybride, I think you made a great choice. I'm still not totallyl satisfied with my DS resort choice. I don't know why I can't get that excited feeling about WL like I do AKL. (Is it because I don't LOVE country music? )

Disneybride, I'm so proud of you for sticking w/ WL!

stepdisney, I had struggled w/ the same thing w/ WL. The location w/ us being huge MK fans seems to be great but then the busses to the other parks aren't all that great.

I was struggling w/ BWI and AKL last night. But I would run into transportation issue at BWI. So we're sticking w/ AKL and I know that is the best for us. I told DD that, like her, I thought the Keister Coaster was great but I went over all of the activities for kids at AKL. Plus the price difference is enough to add on water parks and an extra night. But let's not push it.

disneybride & stepdisney, ya'll are killing me. As if I could slip my poll by without ya'll noticing. I cracked up when I saw I told DH I was busted.

I'm not jumping yet. And I went over transportation and all the activities that AKL provides. It just makes sense to stay there. And the price is a little easier on the budget.

disneybride, a friend of mine owns at VWL and I bet you will LOVE it!

stepdisney, are you holding steady on WL? MK is our favorite resort so the location of WL is perfect. We're having dinner at Whispering Canyon and I think I'll be able to lure DH into our next stay being there.

Well girls, I am just SICK. When you play with fire YOU WILL GET BURNED! Remember that. Ok, ya'll know the drama w/ AKL and BWI. Well DH said it was too much for this trip by the time we add air fare and spending money we're looking at close to $5000. And that is alot for a week. Which AKL is alot less so it's more like $3500 total.

Well we watched the planning DVD and the more we watched AKL and BWI he decided that he just isn't feeling AKL at all. And he was really looking forward to staying there. But now he's asked me about WL. Why are we going in circle over here?????!!!???

So he's gone outside to get his boat ready to go fishing w/ DDs tomorrow and came to the back door and said he wants to see more WL pics and get the DVD ready.

So the moral of the story is, if you find something you like stick with it. Don't try to get a better waterslide out of the deal because it will bite you in the rear.

Well at least you are not back to square one. AKL is still a really nice hotel. Didn't you write in about staying at POP? or am I confusing you with someone else.

I don't think you can go wrong with either. I agree that BWI would be nicer because of the pool, but I too don't know when to leave well enough alone. This time I am sticking to WL. However, I am ready to change some of my ADR's. My DH says that I just can't stand the fact that it is all planned and I have nothing to do. Boy does he know me.

I am up in the air with one TS. I have booked Little Einsteins char. breakfast. We went last year and felt like it was a waste spending a TS on breakfast. Now I am not sure if I should switch it to lunch or whether to book Sci Fi. It looks really cool, however my DS 2 & 5, they would like Lil Einsteins better. Help!!!

nonsmom, my DH has told me the same thing. He told me now I was dragging him into my twisted resort drama. It seems my DH does seem to be a bit "wishy washy" himself.

I wish I could help you on your ADRs but I've never eaten at any of those. I think as mothers we tend to over think things and want to be the vacation hero. Good luck on your ADRs and let us know what you decide.

Ktink is DH sure about not wanting AKL? Did he say why? The pool water slide looks cool but how often will you be in the pool? It is much less expensive to add the water parks and more to your tickets. I think everything will be fine. You have really wanted AKL for a long time and I think the threads that talk so much about pools and views cause us to forget that we are there to enjoy the parks and everything else is gravy. I think AKL gravy is very nice. Don't worry, be happy . Put the video away and stay away from the threads where folks tell about the good/bad of their trips until AFTER your 45 day period has passed. My DH reminded me today that we want to try all resorts eventually and that it doesn't matter what order we visit them. Make a list of all the resorts you want and commit to AKL as square 1 or your first resort. Commit to enjoy everything about AKL. Come back and tell us (me especially) all the good things about it. Go shopping for bathing suits and shorts and flip-flops, (flip-flops usually take my mind off of everything!)

The pros for me of AKL are:
theme, pool, room decor, and good transportation

cons for AKL:
construction, far from MK, dining options as we don't like Boma and won't be dining at Jiko

pros for WL:
proximity to MK, boat ride to MK and CR, EWP, better dining for us

cons:
pool doesn't appeal to me as much, transportation to other parks

I'm going to let DH decide but for now we'll stay at AKL unless he chooses otherwise. I always pick the resorts so I really want my family to have a say in it.

I'll go look for flip flops now, they make me feel better too.

BTW, I notice that you stayed at CSR. How was it?: It is on my list, and I was thinking of changing to it a few days ago, but I have to sit on my hands and not dial the phone. I know I will be happy where I am staying.

CSR is a great resort. The pool and waterslide were really fun. The busses were good. I also really enjoyed the Maya Grill. But aren't you staying at WL? If so I would stick w/ it. CSR is also very large we lucked out and got a room that was centrally located to the food court, dig site, and 2 bus stops.

I'll have to check out jcrew. I really should stay away from the resort board and the restaurant boards.

Ok...I have been catching up.....nonsmom gave great advice...shop...for shoes! The kind you need a pedicure for! Try the restaurant/dining board....
I feel for you, cause I understand wanting to plan that perfect vacation....and there are so many choices and options. Like stepdisney said....save the other resort for next trip...whenever it may be. Your girls are young...you will go again
Planning our trips is definately half the fun, dont want to see it not fun for you
I kept "selling" my DH on one resort...then changing it ....and realized we wanted to be near MK with the baby...CR doesnt appeal to me...and realized if DH liked WL....chances are we go back sooner since it doesnt have the Poly price tag.
Just remember...wherever you stay, you will have a great time!!!
You listed great pros/cons......if YOur DH likes WL...(bunk beds) too...and you got a deal or free dining...maybe he would want to go back next year!!

Up late working on a paper. We are all in agreement then, flip flops and pedicures for everyone. (And chocolate ). Found a few cute pair (3) at Kohls. We all got through another day without changes (only a baby step for you disneybride )
