Confessions of an obsessive planner... Let the countdown begin!!

Friday Karen and I headed over to MA's (crazyforgoofy) house to do our Mickey tie dyes. It rained and we ended up having to do them in the kitchen, lol. We had a nice afternoon and I'm so glad I had these two ladies to walk me through this process! The shirts turned out great and I can hardly wait to wear them! :goodvibes

From top left, clockwise:
Robbie's is the blue, mine is purple, Kya's multi-colored, and Jace's red.

Your shirts look great. The kids like to do tie-dye when we go camping - we actually keep old stained white shirts in the camper just to have on hand ;). Would you mind posting the directions you used to make these. They look a little more adventurous than the shirts we usually make though so I'm afraid to give it a try.

Those look amazing, you must be so happy with the way they turned out! I think definitely more crafty than I could be.

I think these shirts are more time consuming and messy than difficult. ;) Here's the link to the DISign thread with instructions. :goodvibes

Hope! They look great! :woohoo:

Karen is the tie-dye planner, I'm apparently the only one who can (or is willing to) baste a stitch. Karen and I made our first shirts together two years ago!

Karen and Hope work well together because they are both organizers (I'm NOT). I'm an old hippie :hippie:(emphasis on the 'old') so I know where to get the best dye and chemicals (Dharma Trading Company).

Hope is now a certified Mickey tie dye shirt queen. Welcome to our small but happily rainbow-stained club. :grouphug:

Karen was definately the organizer on this adventure! The two of you did the heavy lifting while I was happy to apprentice. I think I might be able to pull it off after studying with masters such as yourselves but it wouldn't be nearly as much fun. :worship:

Hi everyone! I haven't been posting much lately- I've been reading all of your PTRs just not responding much. We have been BUSY- but its a fun type of busy so I'm not complaining. :goodvibes

I did have one small tidbit that I wanted to share in case its helpful to anyone else. We normally park our car in long term parking when we vacation. We live a couple of hours from the airport and it really is asking a lot to expect someone to take us and pick us up so we just park. Its nice when we get home not to have to search for anyone or worry about them waiting if our flight is delayed. (Or us waiting when we can get an earlier connection like dh and I managed on our last solo trip.) Anyway, we just park. I started looking to see if there were any coupons or good deals starting to float around and I discovered that its the same price for us to stay at an airport hotel and park for the week. In fact we'll get a free hot breakfast out of it so we'll actually come out ahead. This is great news because we won't have to leave the house before dawn to make it to the airport on time and will be able to start our day more rested. I love finding a good deal that also makes life easier. :cool1:

Hope, I wanted to ask you... how do you know if they offer this at an airport? I'll be flying out of Philly, which is about 2 hours away from all our homes come this February.. we were planning to rent a large van/bus to take us all down there and come back home with... but if we can drive our own vehicles and stay at a hotel the night prior and keep the cars parked that would work so much better... though parking rate for a week or so at Philly is about $200 per car.. I believe.. not so sure I want to dish out $600 for three cars for that week... would be a lot cheaper to rent a vehicle large enough for us all (would save about $200 compared to parking it)

I used www.parksleepfly.com I found a room with 14 day parking a hot breakfast for about $60. Good luck!

Thanks! I just looked and found a great deal... parking for our trip at the airport would be about $132 for the time we are gone.... with the site you gave me... I found a hotel that offers a room plus 14 days of parking for $129. (The $132 was only for 12 days.. and I don't think included tax, the $129 does) So thank you!!! This is a WAY better option! :yay:

Hello Date Twin!!!! (although we will be there a bit later than you, til the 4th!)

I've got some catching up to do 41 pages to be exact!

WELCOME!!! Today was our 100 day mark!! :cool1:

Two extra days would be nice- though I'm sure I still couldn't fit it all in. :rolleyes1

Dh only gets a week so we have to back for his silly old job.

I forgot to post earlier today.....

100 DAYS!!!

I ran out of printer ink so we didn't get to do our countdown chain. We'll get it tomorrow (Friday) though and we'll really celebrate because we'll be in DOUBLE DIGITS!!

Thanks for celebrating with me guys! :)

Funny thing, I frequent a homeschool forum (don't be shocked, I love the Dis the most, lol) and there is a 'question of the week'. This week's question is 'What is your favorite vacation ever?' It can be from childhood or as an adult and about 75% of the responses have been...... WDW! I'm so used to everyone on the Dis gushing about the world but to read these ladies responses has rejuvenated my excitement. I can get through 99 days, right...
