mine was that mvmcp was for cast members only... when we'd go in Dec and Mk would close for it , i used to wonder how many people worked there for them to need that many parties :guilty:

my biggest misconception was that I thought we could do all 4 parks, 1 water park, Disney Quest and PI all in 5 days during Thanksgiving week too, no less! :earseek:

:rotfl: :rotfl: boy... was I wrong! 6 trips later, we still haven't done everything!

I guess that my FIRST would be that i hated disney...lol...

Growing up my parents were DISNEY Crazed (kinda like i am now) and i really hated that. I guess it was just the "kid" in me being a rebel..Then DH took me on our honeymoon and now i guess it's just history :rotfl:

That a Magic Kingdom resort was inside the Magic Kingdom! :rotfl2:

Yep, I thought you could get off of a ride and walk right into your hotel. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

That Walt Disney World was Magic Kingdom. I had no idea how big it was until I went down in 1994, lol.

That you could just walk up to LeCellier during the evening during the F&W at Epcot. Uh no.

That my first trip would be a once in a lifetime trip. That was a laugh.. The day we got back last year I started planning the next one. :)

That we would go once - see everything there was too see and take a trip to the Bahamas the next year.

We are on 4 trips so far still planning two more for the future and aren't going to the Bahamas anytime soon !

That 8 park days were plenty to see everything... lol. There is no such thing as 'plenty' for me, I want to live there. I think DH still thinks I am kidding when I say that we will retire to Celebration... silly man.

1. I would hate it.
2. That since it was so "fake" all the plants and flowers would be plastic
3. That we would just go once!!!

That there was nothing "special" about staying on property.

Then we did and everything changed.

This was mine too, I completely agree!

My husband, when he was little, thought that his head was going to get chopped off by the girders in Space Mt. So he would spend the whole ride ducking down.

I remember seeing the commercials for Space Mt. before we went in 1974 and was disappointed when I actually went on it that it did not fly through the air. In the commercials to me it looked like there was no track.

I've got the best one ever! When I went to WDW for the first time 4 years ago I was under the impression that EPCOT was in "the ball"! Everytime you see EPCOT on televison they show Spaceship Earth so I always thought that EPCOT was this huge golf ball looking park. When we pulled up to EPCOT that first day I said, out loud, "how do they fit everything into that ball. It sure is small" The three friends I was with asked what I was talking about and when I explained they laughed SO hard at me. I can't believe I was so silly!

Don't feel too bad. A friend that came with me on my last trip thought the exact same thing! I planned out our days and when discussing them she couldn't figure out why I'd plan a whole day in the ball. We had a good laugh once she confessed she thought that's all Epcot was.

As far as myself it would be that staying onsite was so much more magical. I didn't think it wou ld be. Boy, was I wrong.
