does naybody know the name of the condos on sherberth rode right by the animal kingdom lodge. email me at yahoo my address monorail_disney then add @yahoo,com if you have any info.. jason
Hmmm... I know they are like a pale yellow building....I'm assuming you don't mean the ones where they're "condoing" out the old hotel rooms right there and selling them to people for $100k plus? The ones further down..across from the child care center...
That's the one I was thinking of...and Silver Lakes is right after it! There are radio ads here in Chicago to "invest in Orlando hotel real estate, get a slice of the Disney hotel business with our new condo hotel investment opportunities"... I think it's them! haha We laughed when we drove by the place each day and saw the signs for $100k+ condo hotel room investment opportunities, who in their right mind would pay that kind of $$ for that?
Then we heard the ads on the radio here... we were thinking it's the people here selling the idea that are the ones making all the dough!
Do a google on "Silver Lake Resort" or search the 'net...it doesn't get very rave reviews much.
The Holiday Inn condo conversions there are just a joke, some poor people are going to invest all their $$ in those and lose big! IMO at least.. but hey...they painted the place! LOL
I agree...dump. I think they might have been used for Disney employee housing for awhile. There seems to be some Disney employee housing in that area.
I love Sherbeth Road tho....it was my little 'secret' back way of accessing AK when I stayed offsite on the west side of IB highway. There is a view of EE from that road...so a condo with a view might get people to plunk down the bucks. What a yucky place, tho.
...but it'll be $100,000 to start - while you're there for the pitch, the sales manager will tell the folks that "just for you, just for today - because of some really great stock market fluctuations, we can offer this incredible opportunity for $62,000.
....$35,000
...$28,000
...$22,000...."
and folks will look longingly at the new AKL/DVC being built, right there!, and plunk it down.
I wish we had taken some pics of the property last time we drove by.
Sad thing is...it's being advertised all over the radio here in Chicagoland. Ad goes something like "blah blah get rich in Orlando real estate...blah blah...remember Monopoly? Well those who owned the hotels won the game and got rich! Call us to attend a free local seminar..."
So what will happen is no one will see the "real" facilty...they'll attend some glitzy sales pitch with high pressure shark salesmen and be promised the world for ONLY $xxxx per month!! And buy in without ever really knowing what they just did! /sigh.. as you can see from these boards any of the locals or visitors who have seen the place have all said "tear it down"!! The other abandonded hotels / motels right across the street from it are in pretty severe need of a "tear down" too!
Not that I would buy it, but a friend of mine jsut stayed at the Holiday Inn turn condo and it was really nice. Not sure what they are selling for or how they are selling. But. if it's typical timeshare. it's a great location and the rooms were very nice.
