Condos in walking distance? Condo vs. Hotel?

I was looking on vrbo, and it looks like there is a cluster of vacation rentals just to the West of DL/CA, going out Magic Way. I'm not sure what the complex is named, but it is right there at the end of Magic Way. Has anybody stayed in these? I know they would vary a lot by owner, but in terms of location, convenience, etc., did you like the location?

I was originally planning on a hotel, but with 5 people and needing a suite sized hotel room, it seems like a condo might work out better for us.

Thoughts? Anything I'm not considering that I should be?

We had a timeshare until recently in which we would always stay at during all our Disney trips. Last Oct we stayed at DoubleTree Suites because we had friends coming along and wanted to be able to stay at the same location (not same room). That being said we chose DoubleTree because we are used to a larger room, at the timeshare we usually got a 1 bedroom and just put our kids in the living room on the Murphy bed. I also like having a small fridge in the room and microwave (although we neve used that last time). If finding a condo doesn't work out you could always stay at one of the hotels on Harbor that offers suites. We paid $159 last Oct, this Aug for our upcoming trip it's $189 so we are trying Embassy Suites S for $134 a night.

We have normally rented homes from VRBO down in the DL area but recently, some friends of ours were telling us about their recent trip to DL. They stayed at a place called Homewood Suites and loved it! Large sized rooms with fully equipped kitchens, free full hot breakfast offered daily, and only 1 mile from Disneyland with its own shuttle. Our friends absolutely loved it.....said it was the best breakfast selection they have ever seen plus there was also a free dinner. Beverages are also offered 24/7. Hope that helps?
