I know its off topic but I was wondering if anyone has rented a condo or other property for a week or so in Orlando or Florida in general? If you have or you know someone who has, do you know the name of a quality representative to deal with? An online company that has a website with property listings would be nice. I thought there was a link here for properties like that one time.

You could try renting from an owner direct through many of the advertising sites. One of the smaller sites is thebigcondolist.com which has just condos and townhouses for rent.

You could try www.vrbo.com ,I have rented thur them many times and have had no problems.:thumbsup2
They list condos and houses.
Enjoy! We will be going in 3 weeks from today.

We've stayed at a number of Orlando Marriott timeshare condos in the past, but I know most rent them out when they are available. They were all extremely nice, beautiful resort-like grounds, great pools, many amenities, etc. My boss owns timeshare condos and "lends" them to me when I want to use them (his are in Palm Springs, so he trades or buys me time when it is cheaper to do so). I don't have any names of who to contact to rent them, but I would be happy to answer any questions about the condos themselves if that is what you need.

We rented a villa in 2007.

We found it through lastminutevillas.net

We were able to rent it for almost half the normal price. The site send your requests to a large number of villa owners and they in turn respond to you with offers. Being a slow time many of the offers were very good deals.

We are not really sure what we are looking for yet. It is going to be 6-10 adults for one week. It doesn't hav to be a condo, a house is fine too as long as it has 3-5 bedrooms, and all the ammenties that go along with it. Also too it doesn't have to be Orlando, along a nice beach would be great also. We are really open to suggestions. Oh and we are looking for this probably early March.

Hi Brooker:

You may want to give vacationcentralflorida a shot. They may have condos available that are in close proximity to each other.

Brooker - we have rented a condo 4 times from disneyneighbor.com. They have places at Windsor Palms and Windsor Hills. They are wonderful to deal with and their places are nice and clean. Good luck.

We just got back from Sheraton Vistana Villages. Had a 2bed 2 bath (with whirlpool tub) condo. My sister had the condo next door. We got a great deal on southwestvacations.com The resort is amazing. I miss it already.:sad1:

I have rented through www.orlandovillas.com 3 time and always very pleased with them. They connect you with the owners. I have always rented 4br pool omrs. I believe WH & WP have homes with 5 brs.

condo rental.com is your vacation rental specialist since 1992. this site offer resort information and online reservation opportunities for a variety of different types vacation rentals including condo rentals or condominiums, villa rentals, vacation homes and hotel suites.

I've rented from timeshare owners I found on the TUG2.net site and Redweek.com site and saved lots of money over retail. I've done about a half dozen rentals over the last ten years in the Orlando area. The easiest rentals to get seem to be Cypress Pointe and Sheraton Vistana, both which I love. From an owner it needs to be a seven day rental. On Redweek.com if you see a rental you want to do (you can first sign on as a guest), you'll have to pay a $15 annual fee to contact the owner. On TUG2.net, anyone can access the classifed ads section for free and contact owners. Of course, there is more risk involved than a retail rental. To date, though, I've had extremely positive experiences, been very happy with the properties, and saved lots of money. Typically, I'll pay 1/2 at the time of booking, have the owner put the condo in my name, I'l contact the resort to make sure they have a reservation in my name, and then 30 days before the trip I'll pay the owner the rest of the money. I always get the owner's address and phone number and talk to them over the phone. Usually they seem like such a great person and will even offer people I can contact who rented from them before etc. making me comfortable with the whole thing.
