Conditions on St. Thomas and St. Maarten

Has anyone been there lately? I was wondering how they were recovering from the hurricanes. Are the shops open and running? Is Maho beach back in business?

The Cruise Critic forums have a lot of pictures. St. Maarten is pretty variable. St. Thomas, the major beaches are open, with some variability on what kind of food and toilet facilities are running. (porta-potties and food truck type stuff, versus more permanent facilities, etc.)

Some of the big resort hotels on St. Maarten were badly damaged and still not open.
