Concourse Steakhouse closing or moving?

I am a little confused, is it re-locating or closing or what? CS is by far my favorite, I love watching the monorail zoom past. My family and I go there every time and we are going to be really sad if it closes or moves away from the monorails.

a bit of both. nobody's using the term closing from what i've seen, but it's being relocated to where the food & fun center was, being renamed to the wave and featuring asian influenced cuisine.

Just wondering here too?! We have an ADR at the end of Sept during free dining and wondering if I should make some backup plans!

We made a backup ADR for the same night that we had concourse booked. We're going at the beginning of Sept, and I don't want them to announce in August that they're closing for refurb leaving us with nowhere for dinner!

When the trip gets closer, we'll cancel one of the ADRs.

they have yet to start to move the snack bar.

the area will have to be completely redone.

I think they are trying to make it a upscale restuarant.

but I really don't like asian food - so I hope it stays a steakhouse!!!

This tentative schedule was posted earlier this week on these boards. (My apologies to whomever that was, but I just don't remember!) I think this was originally sent to CM's at the Contemporary Resort.

August 2007 - Newly renovated Fantasia Shop will re-open.

June 11, 2007 through November 2007 - The Lobby will undergo partitioned refurbishments to update the area's image and decor.

July 2007 through October 2007 - The resort's grounds will undergo partitioned refurbishments to install new landscaping and re-route existing guests paths.

July 30, 2007 through April 2008 - The Food & Fun Center will be closed for major renovations. The location will re-open as a new table service option, "The Wave". During this time a temporary counter service location will be operating on the Grand Concourse level near the Outer Rim Lounge.

April 2008 through August 14, 2008 -The Concourse Steak house will be closed for major renovations. The location will re-open as the new Counter Service location for the resort. During this time a temporary counter service location will be operating on the Grand Concourse level near the Outer Rim Lounge.

So from the looks of this schedule, the change won't affect ADR's until around this time next year.

Ditto. I know the big rumor is that it'll be an Asian themed restaurant, but until something official is announced I'm going to hold out hope that it stays a steakhouse.

I just made my 3rd adr for concourse to check this out and i was told that there are no plans now for concourse to be closed this august but who knows with disney.

kobe beef in fact. although something tells me that won't be appearing on your plate at disney any time soon. at least not real japanese kobe beef.

Since the Concourse Steakhouse is set to close in April 2008, it won't effect anyone because the window for making ADR's during that time has not opened up. So there is no way anyone can have one for the Concourse Steakhouse in April 2008 and for the months after that.

This is depressing news.

I remember eating here as a child back in the 70's. I don't know what it was called back then but I distinctly remember eating at a table and looking up each time the monorail came through.

I've made an ADR here for the last night of our June trip. It'll be the first time since I was a kid. Glad my DD9 will have the same experience I did.
