Question about the Concierge Royal Suite with Verandah room.... does it only sleep two? I only see one bed in the floor plan.

According to the DCL website, the Concierge Royal Suite sleeps 5.

An unparalleled combination of luxury, personal attention and sophistication come together in our Royal Suites—featuring 1 opulent bedroom, 2 bathrooms, a dining salon, expansive media library, pantry and wet bar. The Art Deco décor incorporates fine artwork, vintage Disney hallmarks, elegant furnishings and signature services to take your cruise to a whole other level.

In addition to a host of upgraded amenities, a Concierge Royal Suite with Verandah has the following standard features:
Sleeps: 5
Size: approximately 1781 sq. ft. including verandah
Room Configuration: 1 master bedroom with queen-size bed, 1 wall pull-down double bed and 1 wall pull-down single bed in the living room, 2 bathrooms including master with double sinks, rain shower and whirlpool tubs (whirlpool tub is also on the verandah), living room, media library, open dining salon, pantry, wet bar and walk-in closets

We were in the suite last spring and yes, there is only 1 queen size bed (it doesn't separate into twins either). The suite sleeps 5 people -- the two on the bed and in the living room are two murphy beds that pull down from wall on the dining side of the room. One is a double and one is a single - hence sleeping for 5 maximum!. The two murphy beds do have privacy curtains that pull around the beds but no wall. No the sofa does not convert - in fact it is curved not straight to allow for making into a bed.

How was the room? It looks amazing!

Which ship(s)?

On classic ships you can sleep 7: there is queen bed in master, a full size murphy bed pull down from wall in sitting area just off master bedroom. On other side of the suite there is a second bedroom with 2 single beds with 2 pull down beds above them essentially making a pair of bunk beds - really nice.

On the Dream, they are designed to sleep only 5: queen in master bedroom and 2 murphy bed pull downs from the wall in the large living room area, one full (sleeps 2) and one single.

I have had the privilege of sailing in the Roy suite on all three ships so far. PM me with any questions.

The room is truly beautiful. I didn't think the furniture was very comfortable though - it was very hard!! Oh well, won't have to be replaced as soon.!! The huge verandah was spectacular! We all plus the balance of family and friends were out there constantly. It was the only place we could all be together on the ship! We loved it. Priced it out for next year and almost choked! $28,000 for 2 people! Yikes. If we could ever swing it I would stay there in a heartbeat. The kitchen fridge is kept stocked with milk and sodas and they have a fabulous espresso/cappucino machine we used each day (after figuring out how the darn thing worked). The two beds have to use a bathroom that is basically IN the LR too! It is right across from the beds (ck the website to see) So not much privacy in the AM!!

We have two small children so the privacy thing is no big deal. When staying in that room did you feel Disney gave you any extra special treatment in any way? Yes, it's a TON of money.... we're thinking 2013 for us.

I agree it is beautiful and there are some great things about the suite on the Dream but I think I prefer the layout of the Royal suite on the classic ships overall: 2 bedroom layout, midship location

The new ones are great if you are entertaining a large party or something. There is a ridiculous amount of outdoor space on that verandah but if you walk out more than halfway towards the railing, deck 13 is looking down on you. The first morning I walked out there with my robe and cup of coffee as we were pulling into Nassau and realized there was a crowd above me looking down at me, felt weird

Yikes... that's no good. Thanks for the tip.

I'm so disappointed with ALL of the suites on the Dream and the Fantasy.
I hate that there are no more two bedroom suites....at all....not even in the Royal. I think DCL really blew that one.
The ONLY thing I like about the new (Dream & Fantasy) Royal suites is the hot tub on the verandah.

We had an Owner's Suite on Norwegian once that had one, and in the Caribbean, we didn't need it hot, but it was great to sit and float in it with cool water. But that room had the same problem, after walking out past the covered area where the hot tub was, everyone above us could look down. We even had people ask us how to "get to that deck". :sad2:

And just an FYI....some websites (like in the Passporter) will say that the sofas in the Walt and Roy on the Magic and Wonder are sleeper sofas, but they aren't.

There is a list of perks available to all suites and to only certain categories. The royal suites can order room service from Palo every night of the cruise if they wish.... other suites (I think all of them) can order from the main dining rooms. (yes, it has to be ordered by a certain time, etc). There are robes and slippers, extra toiletries, the concierge lounge and sundeck, the level of service, etc.

Oh yes the deck above - 13 i believe, most definitely looks down with a great view of your verandah!! During sailaway, the above deck was filled, and from our verandah we looked up and wow! must have been 75 people on the railing checking things out.

I don't know if this is normal or not, but we did have room service PALO one night and service was NOT with PALO servers, but normal room service people. Also everything was brought at once hence hot foods were not always hot. We were somewhat confused as to appropriate gratuity with this situation. Not complaining, just informing.

My brother and sister-in-law are staying in this suite on the Fantasy and we can't wait to see it. My kids will benefit from this because they'll being haning with their cousins alot on their verhandah. Our entire family plans to have a cocktail party on the verandah - I can't wait!

That is a great thread for pics of the Walt suite. The biggest difference between the Walt and Roy on the Dream (besides being mirror images on opposite sides of the ship) is the master bathroom - different layout and amenities completely. The Roy also has that nice chair in a nook off the bedroom and the TV rises from footboard of bed while its on the wall in the Walt.
