We'll be staying concierge for the first time next fall at Poly. One question about help with PS ressies: will we recieve information about who to contact and when or do we need to call ourselves 90 days out and ask the question?

You can basically contact them once you have a reservation in the system. Most of the PS arrangements can't be booked until 90 days out, but there are some that have a broader window. I think Hoop De Doo and Aloha can be booked 1 or 2 years in advance. The pre-planners have a system set up that they can put your requests in as "pending" items. Once the dates have opened up, they'll convert them to a live PS for you.

This thread has your concierge contact information, http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=679928.

Don't wait to hear from concierge. We have stayed at several Disney resorts concierge level and it has been hit or miss wether they contact us so now I just do it on my own. If you do it yourself then at least you know it is done.

When we stayed at the BWI and GF, they never contacted us in advance. I'm now around four weeks out on a CR 14th floor booking and have still not been contacted. MY e-mail to them has so far gone unanswered. :(

I'd go ahead and contact them yourself.

The Polynesian is pretty good about contacting their concierge guests ahead of time but if you have not heard from them at the 90 day mark... I would contact them. If you are looking to get reservations at Cindys or other hard to get rooms... then I would contact them sooner just so they can get your request into the system.

Remember, for some PS, you'll need a credit card.. so maybe a phone call would be the best way to go. You'll find the email address as well as other information on the concierge thread TammiMcMan posted the link for.

Good Luck! :earboy2:

I am staying at BWI concierge in Jan, my first concierge experience. I must say, the CMs have been SO GREAT making our PS. I have always found it to be a big hassle to make our PS reservations, then changing them when our trip plans change.
I rec'd a packet in the mail about 120 days out from our reservation from the concierge planning office. I filled it out with our requests and sent it back to them, US snail mail. Then, about 90 days out from our trip, I started receiving email updates as they were able to get our PS. They were able to get all of my requests, even the 805a Cinderellas Castle (7 people) :Pinkbounc
When WDW changed the early entry to Extra Magic Hours, the CMs at BWI concierge changed my PS with no problems & were extremely pleasant about it, too. They have been great about getting information to me when I send emails with questions. So far, it has already been worth the extra money we are spending and we haven't even gotten there yet!
I do believe that if you staying at concierge level the service of booking your PS, Cirque tickets, Illuminations cruises, spa appointments, etc are part of the package.

I have to agree. Don't wait for the Concierge staff to contact you first if you have specific PS's you want to set up. We're going to AKL concierge in February. I made the reservations last March and I e-mailed them the very next day with a request for the V&A's Chef's table, the Sunrise Safari, and for Cindy's breakfast. This was about 11 months ahead of our planned arrival time. Doing this did two things. First, it started our "Itinerary" file on their system and it allowed me to have peace of mind that I no longer had to remember to make these "hard to get" PS's. When the approprate PS window's became available the concierge staff set them up for me atuomatcially. In the end, I got all of these prized reservations and didn't even have to think about it once I put my first request in.

Also, since then I've made dozens of PS requests/changes all via e-mail (always gotten a response within 24 hours) with the concierage staff as the park hours became available for my trip dates or we simply changed our minds. I can't tell you how much of a pain this would have been having to deal with the general WDW dining phone #.

Bottom line, you are paying a premium for this "Concierge" Level of service so you might as well take full advantage of it.
