Concierge Prices in January

We are a family of 5, so WL won't help, but I'm curious of the rates people have paid for concierge in mid January, during what should be a slow time.

I have the reservation at the 2004 price(they said) since the rates for next January aren't out yet. The rate they quoted is $505 per night, plus tax, so $563 a night. Are there likely to be discounts that will become available nearer to the winter? I don't think I've ever seen a rate that high listed here, but maybe people are only talking about their really great bargain finds.

So, after making my short question long, is $500-600 per night what people normally pay for concierge. (My reservation is for AKL)

IF AP discounts are offered then and if you could get a room with the discount (they only set aside a limited number of rooms w/discount) it would bring the price down to 279 a night, tax included. That's what I paid last November. It was well worth the price to buy an Annual Pass to save so much on the hotel. Only the person booking the room needs the AP so if you're buying park hoppers anyway, it's not that much more to save hundreds.

I know some folks can pay 505 per night but I just couldn't enjoy it knowing it was that expensive.

I loved AKL Concierge. It's the one place I've been so far that I can't wait to go back to!

Sharon: Was the non AP rate the $505 and you secured it for $279 with your pass? For that kind of difference, absolutely I will buy the AP! If a general use discount took it to, say, $289 or something, then it might not even out in the end. Did you have an existing reservation that you called to have the rate adjusted to the AP rate, or do you have to make a new reservation?

Thanks for your help, and any other information you can provide.

The thing to keep in mind is that there are only a limited number of AP discounts available. The AKL has 60 something concierge rooms and maybe they only set aside 25% for AP discounts.

There's been no increase in prices from last November to now so yes, the rack rate would have been 505 including tax. The AP discount was about 45%

I booked about 3 weeks out. It was a what the heck trip because friends were going at the same time. We went 11/15. I was surprised that I caught an AP discount that close but it was a low crowd time and I guess I got lucky.

Also I've learned you don't have to actually have an AP when you book the room at the discount but be ready to show it or the voucher when you check in. They might want to see if.

Course if another code is available the difference may be small and not worth justifying buying the pass. I'm sure there were other discounts out then but as we needed tickets and I figured we'd get our moneys worth in subsequent trips--just went that way.

Supposedly, if you have a reservation and a code comes out, you can call and IF AP discount availabe (again limited number of rooms) Disney will apply the discount.

I'd really like to go back in November and am thinking about getting the reservation now, paying the one nights deposit at rack and hoping I can apply a code or cancel if no code comes out.

Good luck...Sharon

I got AKL concierge Feb 1-4 for less than $300 per night for 4 adults, including tax. That was with an annual pass.
