After going over menus & booking HDD & Luau. Alot of our meals (more than half will be at the parks & resorts. I'm starting to think I should stick with a GV Poly & get the silver plan instead of concierge - Opinions please. I should also let everyone know we have an 12ds,9dd & 8 ds so I'll have to pay the adult rate for the oldest but he's a very good eater. Thanks.

Are you purchasing the silver plan so that you'll be doing 2 meals per day? Or are you planning on utilizing all of the other silver plan features?

When we visit Disney, we typically only plan one or two big meal events, like HDD or an expensive restaurant. The rest of the time, we're pretty casual. I also find that we typically don't eat as much when we're on vacation. My family are primarily grazers, preferring numerous small meals to 2 to 3 big ones. When we do stay concierge, we do spend a lot of time in the lounge area.

If you were planning on going to La Nouba, having a spa treatment, using water mice, a round of golf and at least one big meal per day, then the silver package might be the best way for you to go. You could always price out those items separately to see if you were getting your money's worth. I tend to shy away from the packages myself, because I'd feel guilty if we didn't do everything. But we've also visited Disney many times and tend now to relax more at the resort.

Edited to add: I just happened to see this on another thread. It will give you all the information on what restaurants take the package wishes and if they require more than one. Hope that helps you out with your decision.

This November will be the first time we are using the Silver Plan. I know most people here encourage getting the biggest bang for your buck. While that is absolutely our intention, we are also looking at it from the standpoint that most of our meals and activities will be prepaid.

We are staying concierge (also a first and, maybe a last, as we are waiting to hear if our DVC resale purchase goes through). We plan on eating most breakfasts in the lounge. We will pay cash for lunch and most of DS(5)'s meals. We are doing HDDR, Family Magic Tour, DH is golfing, and renting watermice. We will then use our remaining wishes on meals. Most of them are worth the wishes, but some we will probably just break even. We would love to do some of the two wish restaurants, but DS(19 months) would grow restless in some of those places and he is not old enough for a kids' club yet. But again, we are not looking to save a ton, just not worry about shelling out big bucks when we get there.

Good luck with whatever you choose!
