concierge made ADRs

I have a question I haven't seen answered elsewhere -- maybe no one else was silly enough to post it. :flower3: Anyway, we are staying club level -- can our concierge get us ADRs earlier than we can? That is, can he/she make them earlier than the 90? I just want to make sure that on our honeymoon we can get into the resturants that are important to us.

1) The resort Concierge does not do advance ADR's.
2) This is handled by IPO.
3) And, they do not have Super Powers.
4) They usually do better because they can keep on top of openings.
5) And, of course, on top of cancellations.
6) Anyone dialing-in or going on-line has the same shot as IPO for ADR's.

EDIT: If it is really important to you, I would try to make ADR's personally.
 
I have heard others say they might do better at getting you something at a restaurant in the resort you're staying at if it's sold out, however that might not always happen.

The Club Level has a planning department that can make reservations for you at the 90 +10 mark. I just had them do this for me this week. They told me they have someone that comes in super early and can start on the reservations, even before the online & phone systems are up for the day. However, I asked and the system they use is the exact same one.

It was nice because I had one reservation they couldn't get and they booked some alternatives and then e-mailed me to decide which option to pick.

It was so nice not to worry about getting up early and stressing over trying to get everything - they had it all done for me and sent me a nice PDF file with all my confirmation numbers.:cheer2:
 

The IPO office has access to the same system that everyone else does, but you can tell them what you want well in advance of the 90 day deadline and then they can deal with the hassle of actually securing the reservation. Definitely the way to go and far preferable to trying to do it yourself.
 
I am not happy with the IPO at the GF...I had this reservation booked since Jan 09 and they have never contacted me once...I had emailed them my ressies I wanted and never heard back from them so on Sept 15th I just made them myself...I have emailed them again and still nothing.

Then I called the GF and they said IPO doesnt contact people until 45 days prior to their arrival.....this was not how the AKL operated last year but oh well, at least I have my ressies set

I am not trying to make an excuse for them not getting back to you, because they should have helped you right away. However the Grand Floridian IPO is also the Contemporary IPO, so maybe they were also busy helping the guests with Club Level guests with reservations at the Contemporary.

Oh I did not know this...but shouldn't they have sent me an email, I mean I have been booked for the last nine months and never heard a word from them and I send them 2 emails within the last 2 weeks and not a peep.

I'm really sorry that you're having so much trouble with IPO. Your experience is 100% opposite from mine. IPO has been very quick to respond to all emails that I've sent. I did have to make the initial contact myself but once I did they have been more than helpful. They got all my ADRs within 15 minutes of the requested time, booked our tours and made other arrangements for us.

Since we're traveling withing a couple of weeks of each other, I can't imagine why there is such a difference in the quality of service? :confused3

Yes I agree they should have sent you an e-mail.
 
Uh oh... this is making me nervous. In the past, I have always made ADRs. I decided, because of school, that this trip we would rely on the IPO to make all of our reservations. Should I just make them myself then? I've never had problems in the past calling, but now that they have the new online option I'm wondering if I should just do that and not rely on the IPO.
