The points at the
DVC resorts are set. They can be adjusted -- if something goes up, something else has to go down. Even this has only happened once in the beginning.
Points needed for non-DVC resorts/adventures can and have gone up.
An announcement about the increase in the exchange fee was made back in the summer. I think it was done several ways -- maybe in the e-mail newsletter and on the site?
Just found the announcement in the May Clubhouse Newsletter:
Changes to booking fees
Certain Member Getaways bookings are subject to a nonrefundable transaction fee, which helps to cover the costs associated with these bookings. To offset the rising costs of processing Concierge Collection and Adventurer Collection reservations, transaction fees for these bookings have increased to $95, effective May 1, 2003. All other transaction fees remain the same, including vacation exchanges made through Interval International®. Please note that there is no additional fee required for existing reservations. However, if a reservation made before May 1, 2003 is changed, this is considered a cancellation and new reservation that would require paying the new fee.
The latest guidebook also lists the fee as $95. I think the
Disney Cruise is still $75.
But Okie is right. The Member Guidelines on the website has not been updated. It's been 8 months so I think that should be corrected ASAP.
