I need advice. Can anyone help me figure out what area of WL to request? We are going to be in WL Club level in a deluxe room. I would like to be close to the action of the main area (if possible) or close enough to the lounge (even though it will be on a different floor) so I can send my older kids to get their own snacks. I just have no idea where the rooms are.
Thanks

I didn't know that! He is wonderful. Just a really special person. :wizard:
Do you remember a girl at BWI IPO named Alana? She was SO good too. This was maybe 2003/2004/2005-ish. Also Andrea at AKL IPO?

As I said before, I've had a wonderful experience w/ BC IPO (I know YC/BWI/BC share IPO...) BC seems to be a VERY well-run resort. We just received a letter informing us about the SAB slide closure in May. Although the news is a bit disappointing, I am impressed that they sent out a letter! Can't wait to experience CL there :cutie:

Yes, and Jack (super-DUPER AKL CM) and Sue (she's in AKL IPO) were ALSO pulled from GF RPC and GF IPO when AKL opened.:thumbsup2

Those are two more that some of these lack-luster CL CMs/IPOs could have use an "afternoon of INTENSE TRAINING" with! :thumbsup2

Andrea, I do not know where she was pulled from, but did not know she was gone from AKL.

BC/YC CL have always been very well run and I cannot give enough praises to the BWI CL crew! Now, they are like a wonderful "bed and breakfast" haven!
Considering taking my mother there for her birthday!:cloud9:

On the first page of the WL FAQ there is a link to a map that'll show you where the rooms are.
The deluxe rooms are on the 1-6 floors (on the end of each wing) and the best ones are (IMHO) on the north wing facing the CR. You'll get to see the EWP, partial Wishes and the elevator to RF is down the hall.

Now, the trek to the CL is quite a distance for all of the deluxe rooms since you got to make the full "u" and go to the main elevator and go up one floor.
But for extra room and CL amenties, I think it's worth it!:thumbsup2

HTH

Edited to add:here's the link to the map with the room numbers CLICK HERE
The best deluxes would be the 5 or 6 floor rooms. IMO.
:)

Joe at GF is by far the best CM. :) I'm so glad he's in concierge!

This is the Joe (Joseph)we knew when we were there!

Oh boy, I need to learn about this.

LOL. Here's a photo:

These are on the 4th and 5th floors and lead up to the club lounge, which is on the 6th floor.
They are at the very beginning of Ostrich Trail on those floors - to your left if you are standing staring out over the lobby, toward Arusha Rock, the porte cochere and front entrance of the resort behind you.
You use your room key to unlock the gate.

Awesome, johnsonet! Thanks! That gate looks a little intimidating.

Good morning! I'm new to the whole CL thing and am trying to decide whether to keep our reservation this November at the Beach Club, where we're booked CL-Lagoon View, or switch to the Boardwalk CL. We're only two adults, and what's really giving me pause is that I'm not sure how much use we'll be getting out of Stormalong Bay. Something I was looking forward to about traveling in November was that I'd actually be able to straighten my hair and that will be moot if we're in the pool all the time. That highly important issue aside, we're taking a shorter trip than we're used to, which will also cut into our pool time.

We're also planning on going back for two weeks September 2011, so it might be a better time to try the BC then, but I'm just not sure. Is there anyone who's had experience with one or both or has chosen between the two and can offer me some insight?

Thanks,
Katie

Here is my opinion (and it is just that--an opinion). :)

If I were staying without kids and didn't plan to use the pool much, I would stay at BWI vs. BC. I find BWI CL to be more refined and less crowded with small kids. I am a parent and don't mind being around kids, but if I had a kid-free trip planned this is what I would do.

I also like the activity of the BW area, especially if you have a room overlooking the action. We've enjoyed sitting on our balcony at night and watching all hubbub.

Well said! :cloud9:

#1 reason I'm considering it for our mother/daughter trip this October. (my mom! LOL)
Between that and the RPC. She's stayed at both and loves them both, a very hard decision.
But, the BWI CL I have to say is more intimate than any other CL on property.
These CMs really care about you! They remember your name, your family, etc. You become a part of their family! Tight group there! :grouphug:

Now, the only other two places I can't even compare (apples and oranges) are the Tonga CL CMs and the 14th floor CR, but these CMs are mainly suite CMs.....they're like "Don and Jack" would be your "butlers". :thumbsup2

Actually the 14th floor at the Contemporary also has 5 standard rooms, so they are not all suite Cast Members.

Hi Everyone :) I have just booked AKL concierge for part of our trip in October. I have added 4 nights for DD, DSIL and DH and myself. I have two rooms reserved and have requested adjoining/connecting rooms if possible. I was wondering if anyone knows of a map that shows connecting rooms at AKL? We would love Sunset savanah, but I am sure we will be happy where ever they have us (since all concierge rooms are savanah view) that hasn't changed has it?

Second question, does anyone know where the king bed rooms are located?
We are getting excited already! :goodvibes

Yes, I DO know that, and have stayed in a CW and a CY room as well as a suite.
But the service up there is more on a one-to-one basis than your regular CL.:)

Well I thnik the service is like that because the 14th floor has only a total of 16 rooms, where as the 12th floor has a lot more rooms and it means more guests.

Yea.......and the Tonga has five suites and the CL room that was converted into the honeymoon suite which is just a lockoff from the King K suite.

.....let's do the math. :rolleyes1

You're missing the point, it's about ratio!:thumbsup2

and to quote myself from above,"the 14th floor CR, but these CMs are mainly suite CMs"

please, let's not get bogged down in this anymore!

Actually, mom loved the CR14th Tower and was with me when we stayed in the Presidential Suite.

One of the reasons I haven't booked Atrium club level is that after staying on the 14th floor, will I like it?

hahahaha.....I sound like a RPCer before they stay at SL!

Well if cost was a consideration the standard rooms on the Atrium Club are less expensive then the ones on the Tower Club, plus both floors offer the same food offerings and same service from the Cast Members. The lounge on the 12th floor is also bigger, however I guess that's because they have more rooms. Although since you have stayed on the 14th floor before you already know you won't hear or look down onto the 4th floor, although you don't hear anything while in the 12th floor lounge. Now the one minus of staying on the 12th floor would be getting a room close to Chef Mickey's, although others have said they never had a problem with rooms in that area.

I was going to say "Well said" to cyndisun as well  BWI CL would be great for an adult trip.

Thanks so much for the info earlier on the various CL IPO teams. BTW, is there a trick to getting a suite at the Poly? They seem to be as rare as hen's teeth :teeth: I guess I need to check on-line under the rack rate section, since I know they're not gonna come up with a discount :guilty:

Angel - hey :wave2: Congrats on your plans. Sounds like an awesome trip. I don't have any info on the connecting rooms but unless you request otherwise through Don & Co., you'll be put on the 4th floor, overlooking the Arusha Savanna. If you want Sunset then talk to IPO about that and I'm quite sure they'll accomodate you. Same with the connecting rooms. They can map it all out as your dates get close!
