Concierge/Club Level Information - Part II (Sept 2009)

I found the same thing. We're staying RPC for our wedding trip so naturally I am super excited. :goodvibes I sent them a very nice email and basically got a response that they don't contact you until 200 days before your reservation and to try back then if I didn't hear from them. 200 days came and went... I waited it out as long as I could stand and sent them another email and got another impersonal email and the form. I filled out the form, and they did send me an email back, but it could have been because they needed a cc? When I called to give the cc #, the CM was very friendly and nice. We ended up getting every ADR we wanted, and most were for large groups and an Illuminations cruise, so I wouldn't worry too much. It did take a day or so after the ADR day for them to send me confirmation.

Lol, so true! They did do everything they were supposed to and it was great to not have to make the ADR's myself.... but I had hoped they would be more magical about it... although I guess getting everything I wanted was pretty magical too. ;)

Yes but it's also one of the BIGGEST perks of staying CL. It's too bad that's how GF's IPO seems to operate. Lame. BC's CL is FRIENDLY. And not just ONE CM. All 3 I've had correspondence with so far. Nice :thumbsup2
Have a magical Disneymoon! :lovestruc Staying in the Main Building is awesome, especially if your room is right on the lobby atrium :cloud9:

I have to agree. My favorite IPO office is AKL, but the Poly and the BC CMs have always been very nice as well. I found the GF IPO office quite impersonal, even when I called. There was one CM there who was great, though -- keep trying and maybe you'll get her!

Thanks ya'll! I'm going to go ahead and call them to see if they got (and read) the paperwork. They need my CC# anyways to book the tours. I just wish the first person who emailed put a name on it. I have no idea who sent it.

My experience has been the same at GF.:upsidedow

We have GF SL booked for the end of July. We booked it within the 180 days window as an add on to our week at BC, so I already had all our ADRs made.

I still have had no contact from IPO...seems like they should at least make contact with people, I dont need anything from them, it would just be good customer service.

You don't all need to be there -- just whoever is paying for it! When we check in CL, though, it's usually in the lounge. DD wanders off towards the snacks and drinks right away, while we finish up with checking in. Makes for a very pleasant beginning, since we're usually starving after traveling all day and DD can't wait any longer.

Thanks, mmmears.
I don't recall any drinks or snacks in the CL lobby when we checked in at the Poly last year... Maybe we didn't notice because we were all so excited! Or did you mean they went up to the lounge on the 2nd floor?
This year we'll be a group of 7 and I'd hate for all of us to cram in that lobby - especially if there are other families trying to check in.
Thanks again for all the info!

At Poly it's different. I assumed mmmears was talking about at AKL. At the Poly, yes, you would be on the 1st floor and your family could walk upstairs to the lounge and see what snacks were out. At AKL everything is on one level. At the GF RPC, the CMs are on the 3d floor and the food & beverage offerings are on the 4th floor, just up a small staircase. Each resort does it a bit differently...

Thanks for clearing that up for me, johnsonet.
Isn't it strange how we just "have" to know all this stuff before we get there? LOL!

Yes, johnsonet is right. You can just send them up the stairs at the Poly (my DD did that, too! :rotfl:). AKL CL is just easier since you can see the food and drink from the concierge desk. At BC, the CM even recommended that we send her in the lounge if she wanted to go there (and that we grab a drink while we were checking in). It's such a nice way to check in!:goodvibes

Our First CL experience and I'm getting excited! Thank you all for posting what you do and what needs to be done! We loved the WL the first time we were there, that we had to go back to the lodge! Crossing fingers for the MK view rooms! Can do without the Courtyard rooms!

Thanks. Yes, there are pros and cons to all this obsessive planning
but it's nice to be prepared :thumbsup2

It really is a GREAT way to check in :cloud9:

Congratulations :cool1:

we are staying at the RPC at Grand Floridian next month. Have to say that the IPO folks have been extremely helpful. They have responded to every request very quickly and have made several helpful suggestions in addition to fulfilling our requests. I'm surprised to read other posts that are somewhat critical of them -- not our experience at all.

Us too. They have been great! Very professional, helpful, and timely. They are not always warm and fuzzy persay but do their jobs efficiently and thoroughly in my opinion.

OK I'm confused here :confused3. We are staying at YC at CL in 7 weeks, no one has ever contacted us about anything. I'm I reading this board correctly should someone have contacted us about ADR? We have made all of our ADR already but they don't know that. This is our first time staying CL.

You should contact them. I usually wind up contacting IPO first. The email addresses are on the first page of this thread.
Put your last name and reservation number in your email, introduce yourself and make any requests, such as dining reservations, room location requests, requests for extra info, etc. You don't have to think of everything in your first email... just get the ball rolling :) BC/YC IPO is very good in my experience. You will get a prompt, friendly reply (first off, you'll get an automated msg, fyi)

Where do I find the e mail address for this? I used a Mouse Ear Vacation to book the trip. (my neighbor is my travel agent) she has never said anything to me about CL contacting me or me contacting them. TIA

Please check page 1 of this thread. All the information you need to contact IPO is listed in the first post. ;)

I booked our December trip today!! I am soooo excited, and I can't believe I have to wait another eight and a half months to actually be there!!

We'll be TPV CL at the Poly, and I'm super pumped!! I do have a question for all you CL experts (tried to search a couple phrases, but I probably wasn't wording correctly). We reserved two rooms since there will be nine of us. There was only one room available in CL, so half of our party is in a regular TPV room. The CM said the rest of our party would be able to accompany us to the lounge even though they aren't staying CL. Anyone care to share any experience with this?

RachelTori answered your question, but I though I'd chime in and let you know that more than one CM in IPO has told me that if you used a TA to book your trip, it is likely that they don't have any information on how to contact you. Please give them a call or send them an email so they can help you out. :goodvibes

Welcome! I'm no expert here, but I'll give you my opinion on this. Some of the CMs that book room reservations are misinformed about things, so please don't count on anything they tell you... The only one that can really tell you is the Poly IPO office, and really the CMs who sit in the concierge when you are there. IMO it won't be allowed since the lounge offerings are something that you are charged for with your CL room -- since half your party isn't paying for CL, more than likely they won't be getting CL services. But like I said, it really just comes down to what happens when you are there. I'd keep trying to get another CL room if I were you, even if it's GV for now. That's alot of people to take into an already-crowded lounge and I doubt that it would be ok... Not trying to be mean here (really) just want to let you know that you really can't count on what the CRO people tell you in cases like this. Hope this helps!:goodvibes

Here's the IPO response (just couldn't wait for the thread, so I emailed ...I'm so impatient!! ;)):

You can continue to call back to see if the other party can get a club level room if they are interested because there are often cancellations, even from different times of the day.

If they are not able to get a club level room they can use the lounge, but must be accompanied by someone in your room.
