concierge breakfast AND LUNCH???

With so many great choices I think I may be "over planning" the meal itinerary and could use your advice. DH and I usually have concierge breakfast at 7 or so and then a big meal around 4, 5, or 6. If we go with several other people next time and want to all eat together, (seriously I KNOW about everyone to theirselves, and agree but won't work with these!) O.K., let's pretend for the sake of my meal plan we're all together (smiling at each other) and we had a concierge breakfast at 7, can they go til 4, 5, or 6 until the next meal? There will be small children in the group. I will happily plan a counter service lunch but I don't want us throwing out lots of food because it's too much. As an example, if you have a 5 p.m. character dinner could you the average family also have had a 11:30 or noon lunch??? If I go with a noon lunch and a 8 or 9 p.m. dinner it'll be too late for real little kids!

We have a nice breakfast in concierge. We eat our large meals at lunch so we plan that at around 1:00 p.m. We then take our break for swimming at the hotel around 2:30 p.m. Relax poolside (unless it's raining, of course) with our cookies and lemonade, head back to our room around 4:30 to shower and change for our evening park. Grab some appetizers and head to our evening destination. We don't usually do a "sit down" in the evening (exceptions being our character dinner OR dinner show nights), rather we each choose what we would like to eat and more or less munch our evening away. Sometimes we make it back to concierge for desserts, sometimes not--depends on the park we've chosen for that evening and the closing times.

It's been our experience that eating the large lunch leaves little room for dinner and we just want a "little something" after the long, hot afternoon. Of course, we typically go to WDW in June and when it's really warm, we're not much in the mood for a heavy late meal.

Just a thought.

We(self, DH, DD7 and DS11) have a decent breakfast (cereal, toast, juice, milk, fruit or the equivalent) and then head to the parks. if we have a dinner planned we have some snacks for the kids that they carry in their fanny packs. If they say they are hungry I stop at counter service and get one meal for the kids to share (I cut sandwiches and burgers into fourths). Leftovers are eaten by DH. If we have a large character breakfast there is no need for lunch, but we usually get two counter service meals and split at around 5-6pm.
We usually opt for a late lunch as our main meal for the day. We DVC so late evening snacks of PB&J or easy mac keep the kiddies satisfied.

We almost always have some type of lunch between 11:30 and 1:00, and then eat dinner between 5:00 and 7:00pm.
