Concierge and PS reservations

Has anyone ever had good luck with letting the concierge trip planning people make their CRT reservations? We are going in October and I got my trip planning form from the concierge trip planning people. On the form, they told me to list all the PS that I would like and they will take care of it. I know the CRT is a very hard PS to make. I would hate to leave it all up to them, not worry about it and then get down there and find out that the PS was all full. In all actuality, I will probably be calling them the morning I want the PS to see if they got it for me, but maybe it would be better if I just made the PS myself to make sure...Any suggestions?

Has anyone done this in the past? how did it turn out for you?

I have had good luck with concierge making all my PS however I do know that some people try themselves for CRT as well as having concierge try.

I will say though I give them the fist day of my trip and try for that and if they can't get me in I give them directions to keep trying for any day of the week I will be there.

But that said I have always gotten that first day.

We just went in March and I had the same concern. We got CRT for the day requested but, in our case, it was the first full day of our trip and I knew that, if they were unsuccessful, there would be other days that they could try. In the case of our request for an Illuminations cruise -- which is much harder to book because there are only 4 or so pontoon boats to rent per night -- they didn't get it for the first night we requested but were successful getting it for the next night. If you don't plan on checking in with them on the day they would be trying to book your requested CRT, make sure to leave them instructions on trying to secure alternate dates.

If it absolutely has to be the day that you are requesting, then you should go ahead and try to book it yourself as a back-up. I thought about doing the same but I felt the risk of not getting our PS was very low based on the experience of others on these boards and I was mindful of the fact that, if we both ended up getting the CRT PS, we would have a duplicate PS and, even though I would of course cancel one of the duplicate CRT PSs, someone else who got up for the 7:00 am drill would be denied a PS.

Last year the polynesian planning staff got us CRT a month before our trip, at the time and on the day we wanted, in June, certainly not a slow time of year.

Contemporay Concierge got me CRT with less than 90 days notice for the day I requested last October 2004. On the other hand, the Polly Concierge never got it for us on our July 2003 trip (this request was also less than 90 days out).
