Has anyone stayed at both concierge and regular savannah view at AKL? Is there a big difference? What are the perks of concierge?

I would also like to know. After reading the boards sounds like cons verses none, is the way to go. I need help to justify the AP/$75 night additonal fees. My husband's argument is that we will be at the parks most of the time. He has a point. HELP!

First of all let me staart by saying AKL, is my fave resort so I am a little biased. I have stayed Savannah view twice had a fabulous time. Ordered room service several times each vist and bought my refillable mug.
In August we upgraded at check in to Concierge. And we used the lounge alot. It was however a trip were we spent alot of time relaxing at the resort. I never once used my resort mug that trip and only ordered room service once. It turned out to be a smart move for me. I have 4 kids plus myself. Sodas, milk for the little guys bottles all day...We are very light breakfast eaters so we ate breakfast in the lounge every day, lots of fresh fruit, cereal, bagels things of that nature. ( times 4 children that adds up) At dinner time there are appetizers from Jiko and Boma. chicken nuggetts for the kids, little pb and J's. The little guys would have chicken nuggetts and some fresh fruit. During the day we would pop up from the pool and get them some gummy worms and some little pita chips. I would get a soda. we had a great experience.

We go again in December also staying this time Concierge ( It's hard to go back now:rolleyes: ) We are spending alot of down time at the resort again. If you are power parkers and will be gone from dawn to dusk. It may not be worth it to you, if you are of a slower pace and will utilize the lounge its a great idea. Also Allana in the Lounge is fabulous with all your Priority seatings and any and all questions. It has been a great experience for us!::yes::

The AKL concierege is very very nice. The food is better than the food at the GF. The rooms are about the same as regular savannah.

One of the best things about the AKL concierge is the Sunrise Safari which is one of the best tours at WDW. I would strongly recommend that you look into this tour.

When we stay at AKL concierge we do breakfast everyday in the lounge, eat lunch (usually its the big meal of the day) at the parks and then do a light dinner and desert in the lounge. For the 4 of us that justifies the extra expense... the convienece of the kids being able to get drinks and snacks whenever they want them, having all your PS made for you and getting to do the Sunrise Safari are additional bonuses. However if you never eat breakfast and will be at the parks from early morning until midnight it probably would not be worth the added expense. Since we always go in the off season when the parks close early, we tend to spend most evenings at the resort...and it is delightful...a cappucinno in the longe, while people watching over the lobby, seeing the fire below...ahhh life is good!!
