Concierge Access After Check-Out?

We will be staying at AKV (the DVC villas) in a concierge studio until 12/31 and then we are moving to BWV. I am afraid that our studio at Boardwalk will not be ready in time and that we will be "homeless" for a long period of time on NYE when we usually go back to our resort and "hang out". We will be checking OUT of AKV Concierge on 12/31. Will we be able to return to AKV and enjoy the lounge on our check-out day in the mid-late afternoon when we return from the parks? Or will we have to be homeless around BWV until our room is ready?

I've never stayed concierge there, but since you are able to use all the other resort amenities until midnight of check out day, I would think you could use the lounge as well. You would still have your KTTW to prove you were a concierge level guest.

Yes, you are free to use the lounge until the end of your check-out day. During our AKL stay, we hung out in the lounge about an hour after checking out while waiting for ME.

Thanks! That's good to hear! That makes being "homeless" a little less stressful.

I haven't yet stayed at AKL concierge and was wondering if you have to have a key to access that floor, or if just the concierge lounge required a key to access.

When I have been in the elevators at the AKL when going to Boma, I saw that you need to insert you're KTTW card to access their Club Level floor.

Is the concierge lounge keyed also? Is the entire sixth floor concierge level rooms?

Just hoping we won't need too many extra keys to replace ones left somewhere by a kid. :lmao: If the floor is keyed, but the lounge is not, that would be great. My son, who can be a little absent-minded, can go to the lounge without a key and knock to get into room on his return.

The way I remember it said for Club Level access on the 6th floor please insert you're card. So I am assuming the rooms are on the same floor as the lounge, however I think it's best to get the answer from a guest who has stayed Club Level at AKL before. I am only saying what I saw in the elevator and assuming how it is over there.

The sixth floor is now DVC as is the 5th floor, so all concierge AKL rooms I believe are 4th floor and the lounge is on the 6th floor so am sure a KTTW would be required to gain access to the lounge.

So ... would our AKV KTTW work in the elevator after we check out?

Thanks everyone! Once I told my husband that we could return to the resort he is now planning on it even if we get into BWV at a reasonable time.

Yes, you need to use your room key in the elevator to access the AKL lounge, which is on the 6th floor. Rooms are on the 4th floor. It was a bit of a trek from our room to the lounge.

I understand that the AKV concierge rooms are also on the 6th floor. So will we need a key to access the lounge itself, i.e., will my son need a key to go from the room to the lounge to get a coke or cookie?

My recollection at the Polynesian is that no key was needed to enter the lounge, but I may not recall that correctly. . . .

If you're room was on a different floor then where the lounge is, then yes you would need you're KTTW card so you can insert it for the 6th floor. Now if you happen to get a room on the 6th floor you don't need to do that, since the lounge would be on that floor.

No you wont need a key to access the lounge if you are lucky enough to be staying AKV concierge. The key is only needed for the elevator to get you to the 6th floor.
