Lots of questions:
We are planning a honeymoon at wdw for January 2008. I would like to buy the guide books (Unofficial Guide/Passporter/Birnbaums?/Dining Guide) as they come out this year; however, I am wondering how much information will be changed/added between the 2007 books and the 2008 books. For those who have read the books in consecutive years, have you found a lot of different information between years? Is there a place where I can find out the new info without having to purchase the books again?
Also, I was wondering if the Frommer's guidebook was any good? And does anyone know if they will be coming out with new editions of these books: "Unofficial Guide to WDW for Grown-Ups" (is it worth it to buy this book?), and "Beyond Disney: The Unofficial Guide to Universal, Sea World, and the Best of Central Florida"?
Thank you so much for any help!

(I wasn't sure where to post this, so if this is the wrong thread, I'm sorry!)

Not much changes between two different years. Unless a bunch of new attractions come out, or a big change happens, you don’t really need two in the following years... If you want to buy two books you could possibly buy one now for research and buy a later edition of another book if one comes out before you go. Birnbaums is the best IMHO.

From what I understand, the PassPorter '07 was just sent to the printers, when everything started changing at WDW. They said that they were going to get the corrections made so that the '07 issue would be as current as possible. I always buy the newest Unofficial Guide to WDW and the newest PassPorter for each trip. Then, I can get any new stuff right here on the DIS boards. Yes, it's nice to have a hard copy of something your hand as you plan. So, buy those two books and hang out here! Those two books are my favorites....with each of them I don't need anything else!

I do get new inserts for my Passporter each year. And I do see quite a few changes/improvements each year, both in content, and, where Passporter really shines, functionality. That, coupled wth TGM (and the DIS), gives me all I need.

well i have the guid from 1999, 2005 2006. between 2005 and 2006 there was barley nochages except EE.But i think it will probebly be a big change. :sunny: :) :cool1: :confused3  :rotfl2:  :smooth:  :yay: :dance3:

I like to use the Passporter and The Unofficial Guide. If used together, they compliment each other on the available information. Birnbaums is ok, it just doesn't have as much info.

you might also want to get WDW for Couples by the Perlmutters I know the last one was released in 03 but it has alot of romance ideas. You can also go to bn.com & search by release date to help get the newer ones.

My DW and I had the Passported on our Honeymoon. We loved it because we were able to enter what we did each day at then end of the day. Now we can go back and read and remember our Honeymoon.

As a guide book, it is written and organized very well. It was very easy to flip to the section we needed to look at.

Don't forget that with the Passporter, they post printer-formatted updates as soon as they happen. You just print, trim, and slip into your Passporter! If you have the deluxe ring-bound version, you just punch holes and pop the updates right in like they were part of the book from the beginning. It's always current!

*hugs her Passporter* :goodvibes
