Anyone else concerned about crowds for their next visit? I just bought at BLT and am now wondering where they are going to put all these new DVC members at the parks.

I know it wont happen anytime soon, but I would like to see a new park to accomodate all the new DVC owners and to keep crowds at more historical levels.

I dont believe there will be an influx due to this as most new DVC members are people who frequent wdw in general anyway. Now you will stay at DVC resort(s) instead of at a moderate or deluxe is all. They have added many new dvc resorts over the years and it doesnt seem to affect the crowds at any given park in a negative way since you would have been going anyway. So this should not have an affect on park attendance I wouldnt think. Having the DVC membership grow may affect other resort booking levels but they fill those up to with tempting offers (free dinning, 4/7 deals, etc). One thing I have noticed as DVC has grown significantly over the past 5-7 years is that the no other new resorts have been built in this same time frame on site at WDW. So occupancy of the other resorts seems to be the only affect, but again they entice people with "deals" to fill those up too.

One of the nice things about DVC from Disney's perspective is that DVC can adjust the points charts to favor the less-crowded times of the year. That has the effect of smoothing the crowd levels a little in the parks.

I'm sure that Disney Imagineering is always thinking about new attractions and entirely new parks. What did you have in mind.

Disney loves crowds and full resorts and hotels. Why on earth would they spend money on a new park when they still have room at the existing?

People talk about the cuts that Disney makes, reacting to the economy etc. Personally I think the cuts are smart move. But I have also benefited from the opposite end of the spectrum - when the crowds were larger than expected. We were in DHS when it was still MGM, at 11:30 am we were being seated for lunch and the CM asked us "did you hear the news" We said no what's the news. 42,000 entered the park before 11:00 am so they added an extra Fantasmic showing tonight, and extended the hours of the park and restaurants.
