Concerned about airfare prices

I am hoping to take my son for our 2nd trip in March. I have the campsite, and the tickets all bought and have money saved for airfare, but am concerned about the prices.

The only way we get to go is if the air prices are reasonable. I looked at southwest today and the lowest regular price they have from Omaha to Orlando is 135 one way......

Any opinions.

I don't think you are going to see a lot of drops in prices. Airlines are getting better with less flights and now with the price of gas and fuel higher the fares will probably go up rather than down.

Southwest is in better shape than most airlines so you may see lower prices but I wouldn't wait too long.

when I went from philly to orlando on SWA last march it was high like $200.00 seems like march is very busy I never saw really low fares and I checked often

Go on Southwest website and download ding and there will be icon of an airplane wing that will appear when complete and when there is a ding fare there will be a picture of a letter if you missed the sound of the ding it's pretty loud! Ding fares are special discounted fares SWA offers and you can only get them by downloading ding! You click on the icon and it will take you to there specials!Also check there clip n save specials! Do this daily you're bound to find a deal sooner or later! Hopefully this works for you!

Hopefully the days of cut-rate airfares are over -- I say "hopefully" because I'm sick and tired of having my tax dollars used to bail out airlines that go into bankruptcy because they couldn't charge enough for flights to cover their costs. We passengers have had a great time in the last several years, flying cheap, but those opportunities are going to become fewer and further apart, as the airlines gain a better understanding of what they need to charge in order to stay in business.

What dates did you check? March 2006 rates on Southwest are not out yet. If you checked over a holiday weekend, or during a holiday week it may be expensive in general becasuse of the holiday season.

You'd be suprised sometimes how faires can change from one week to another; especially around holidays
