I keep all of my photo files on external drives. I have several of them since I use the two 1 TB drives to back up the 2 TB drive every now and then. Right now, I am actively using the 2 TB drive to put all my new photos.
So here's the problem I'm having. I had a couple drives on and off my computer as I was backing them up in June. Then I took all the drives and stored them away from my computer while we were out of town. When I came back and plugged my main drive back in, the computer started recognizing it as the I drive instead of the G drive it was called before we left. Not really a huge deal....... until I try to edit photos imported into Lightroom before the computer changed my drive's name. Now LR won't recognize those files, and it won't let me import them again.
I've had this happen before but I wasn't in the middle of editing things. So the few files I needed to go back and work on I just renamed and imported again. This time I have thousands of shots imported that I haven't edited and really can't see sitting down and renaming them all.
Am I missing some way of figuring this out?
