Does anyone know why I get "fatal errors" sometimes when I try to access some sites? This can happen even when I go to sites that I have used a lot & all of a sudden, everytime I go there and try to either go forward or back, the screen goes black, then a message that a fatal error has occured and to hit control, alt, delete to restart the computer. I can't go to Deb Wills' site anymore and some others. Tonight I tried to renew my car registration on line, and it did it again with that site. I don't know who to ask about it, so I hope maybe someone here has had and solved the problem or could steer me in the direction of help.
Thanks.

What operating system are you running? What internet browser, internet explorer or netscape? What version? (go to help, about)
did you add any software to your computer or make any changes when this started?

Dang, Alex just beat me to all the questions I was going to ask! I'll just add how fast of a processor & how much memory?

I have AOL version 5, the only other thing was I upgraded my virus scan, McAfee, last year. I can't remember when this problem started but it has been a while. I am a real know-nothing and I was lucky enough in the past to have the computer people at work help me. But where I work now, there isn't anybody that knows much more than I do. The virus upgrade came from one of the MIS guys where I used to work, and lots of others used it too and didn't have any problems.

OH AOhell!!!!!!
Aol has lots of built in incompatibilities with different things.
My best suggestion would be to try upgrading it to the newest version (7?)
You can also try removing the McAffee and see what that does, it also causes some problems

It is an HP Pentium II processor, memory I don't know. the label says 64MB SDRAM memory, is that it? I know when I go to the "computer icon" and bring up the pie chart, I have only used a tiny sliver of space, the rest is unused. I have only added 2 or 3 software programs, and the MS Office package.
