Computer problem...ughhh...

Okay, I am having issues with my computer. I can open and save any word, excel document by using the save "icon" in the toolbar.

BUT, when I try to save using "save as" in the file menu, my computer freezes. I lost 3 documents yesterday...

I was directed to the microsoft website for some downloads, did them, and it still freezes. I ran ad-aware, spybot and Nortorn. Nothing vicious hanging around.

What would cause this? I need peace and balance brought back to me and my computer...

Try going to Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel and uninstall Windows Hotfix KB908531 if it is there.

Reboot your computer and see if the problem goes away.

Go back to Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. Select Microsoft Office and then choose the option that says Change. That should give you an option to Repair your installation. (as well as add or remove). Try that. If not you're best to unintsall and reinstall because it sounds like a corrupted file.
