I will try not to type the words that are coming out of my mouth right now!

I have tried and tried to get a picture to post here.

I am clicking on that darned picture icon up there and copying and pasting my URL from flickr, but it won't work.

What am I doing wrong????

GRRR!!!!

Thanks,

Dawn

I used the photo you tried to post in the "Best photo thread..."

Here's what I did. I'm not familiar with Flickr, so if there's an easier way, I hope someone else will chime in:

1. I selected "All sizes" which is right above your photo on the left
2. Then I chose "Medium" because large will be too big for this forum
3. Right click and choose "Properties" and copy the URL address
4. In the DIS thread, click on the yellow mountain above the reply box
5. Paste the URL address over the "http:" and enter.

You should be good to go. I'm not the best at giving directions, and actually I think I'm pretty bad at it, so I really apologize in adavance if I muddled things even worse. I just know that you've been trying for a little while, and thought I would try to help.

BTW...beautiful photo :)

You just click on the little mountain looking icon (second from the bottom left), it says please enter the URL for your image, you put in the URL, click OK, and you're done.

What you'll get is a tag that looks like [ IMG ]http://www.foo.com/foo.jpg [ /IMG ] except without the spaces inside the brackets.

You can also do the same thing by just typing the bracket IMG bracket, your URL, and then bracket /IMG bracket.

Yes, that is exactly what I did and it didn't work.

grrr.

Thank you for breaking it down for me. Good grief. I understand the camera end of it, but the computer end, fo'get about it!

I am still learning! This was Day 2 of using my new Canon 40D!

Thanks for the encouragement though!

This was taken at our local museum in the rainforest section.... can you tell it was taken indoors?

Ah, thanks guys....I was missing the downsizing step! Got it working and posted a pic of my backyard deer from this afternoon on the other thread!

no, not really. well not me...
I do see some flash or other light making the left side pretty bright. But other than that it looks good.

Ah, now that you mention that, I do see it. Would there be a way to not have had that? Or would you just need to crop it out?

So much to learn.

I think the green adds to the scene. It looks a lot like the on board flash fired, but I can't read the exif info from the photo posted to be sure.
