I have a computer..and no absolutely no idea what is wrong all of a sudden. I cannot print some coupons that are sent to me from like - Fridays..:confused3.I get a message " Internet Explorer raised unhandled exception in third party module and should be closed. We are sorry for the inconvenience" Then I have a choice..."send a report" or "close". Then it takes me back to my desk top.
What do I do? I am at wit's end...I'm a senior Disfriend...and am so very frustrated!! I go through yahoo.
Has anyone ever used the "Geek Squad" that I've seen riding around town? Is it expensive to have them (or someone) out to fix it? I don't know anyone personallyto ask.
I'm trying to get my coupons together for our trip the end of the month..and can't print some of them...I was so looking forward to using the "Sweet Tomatoes" ones....
Thank you so much...barb

The first thing I would do is google that error message and see if you find help.

Years ago I also used protonic.com which is a group of volunteer geeks who will try to help through email.

Try this information that was found at the Microsoft answers site :

"We need to first, make certain an add-on is causing your problem and second, determine which add-on is the cause. First, I’d like for you to run IE in the No Add-on mode. Click on Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and click Internet Explorer no Add-ons.
Now, launch IE and see if you still get the message. If not, then we can be relatively certain that an add-on is the cause and we can run the steps to determine which add-on is causing the trouble. Restart IE normally, then click “Tools” on the Menu Bar and select Manage Add-ons. Disable all of your add-ons and then re-enable them 1 at a time until you locate the add-on causing your problem.

Note for anyone else doing this - When in the Add-on Management menu, make sure to change your selection to show "All add-ons." The default selection is to show "Currently loaded add-ons." This drop down selection menu is located to the left. We originally went in an disabled a bunch of junk that wasn't needed (like AOL ____) and tested it. Problem not solved. We went back in to make sure there wasnt an "Apply" button we missed and noticed the drop down selection menu to the left. We changed it to "show all" and previously unlisted add-ons were then listed. We found 2 that weren't needed, disabled them, and problem solved. We didn't test to see which of the two was causing the problem but in case it helps anyone, the 2 were Quicktime and SonicSolutions add-ons."

1st thing to try is always restart the computer. That works more times then people believe.

thank you for all the input...but it's still not behaving. It doesn't seem to be a constant thing...and it works the worse from yahoo - and now when I try to close down (from yahoo) it gives me the same message...then closes and goes back to IE.
I wish I was smart...and I don't think I have Flash or Java...if I do...I don't know where it is.
I wish my Grandkids were closer...but they're scattered around the country.
thank you all again so much...barb

Even better option... install either Chrome or Firefox. Avoid using IE.

Now I'm getting the stupid message when I try to "return" to the previous page on this site....I'm so mad....
I have McGafee....and I think IE is all we have on here...I have to go through IE to get anywhere...is any of this making sense?
I have never felt so confused in my life....I need a computer book for dummies....:badpc::badpc:
thank you again for your help...barb

-restart the computer

-do a virus scan

-update I.E. however the other posters are correct its much better to just use firefox.

If that doesn't work , return your computer to the last known good configuration.

if you can't find that PM me for my chat service name and I will help you more ;-)

If things worked just fine earlier and this probleme suddenly appeared then a restore to earlier system settings may solve the problem.

What version of windows do you have, and I'll explain how to find and use System Restore. This does not cause you to loose any of your own documents, photos etc. It only restores windows settings back to some prior day in the past when things were working.

My computer geek cousin calls IE Internet Exploder. Download Mozilla Firefox.

Open Internet Explorer and go to

http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

Click on Download and then follow the instructions to install.

After it is installed, you should have a Firefox icon on your desktop. Just click on that instead of IE when you want internet.

If you can't figure it out, talk to friends to see if they or someone they know can help you. I help people all the time. I'm not an expert, but I can usually figure these things out when they're right in front of me. GeekSquad will take your money, but it is probably something simple.

If you want to stick with IE, try this...

Open IE

Go to Internet Options. On my version, I click on Tools in the upper right of the screen, then choose Internet Options(one of the last choices)

Click on the advanced tab

Look close to the bottom of the box and click Reset. You'll have to click reset again to show that you want IE to restore to default settings. You will probably have restart your computer or at least IE after this is complete.

From what I am reading this error is caused by an IE browser add-on,and when you clear it out, things go back to normal.
