computer help please

I still do the old fashion rewards sites where you click on an ad leave it up for x amount of time and get points which
can be used for gift cards or cash

things were going good until a few months ago when chrome wouldnt open the ad
I could get into the site click on the ad then all that was on the screen was the very top line
where you put in the website

so someone suggested using firefox as a brower which I did and everything working great for months

so I was able to use chrome for emails and surveys sites
edge and firefox for rewards
so now for some unknown reason edge is doing the same thing

so can I add another firefox browser or are there any other browsers I can add

at this rate it will take me forever just to get through a few of my sites

any suggestions

If you have a VPN try and disconnect for your sites.
If no VPN, check your browsers for built in Add Blockers. Some have add blockers set by default now. Disable for your sites. Without knowing more about your system, your anti-virus software may be blocking your sites as well.
Since you are seeing some of the site, I suspect that something is blocking where the add or body of the site is displayed.

Usually you will be able to go to a page and enter the addresses for sites you don’t want blocked, if there is a blocker in place. If not, there should be a way to turn it on and off. Good luck!

Look at the upper right corner and there might be a small icon in the address bar. Click on it and see what the menu says. I use the Brave browser. On mine it's a red lion icon.

I click on the red lion and get the following:

That gives you the options.

heres what I got

I put in one of the rewards sites
the site come up
I go into login and the places I go come up
I click on one to get started and the ads come up
when I click on an ad is when I get a bascially white screen
just the address bar shows the website I logged intp

so then I start with your advice and click on things on the right hand side
really nothing comes up for ad blockers
the first one browers essentials but nothing for ad blockers comes up there
nect is collections which is shopping games things like that
next is a star thats for favorites
theres afew others but again nothing for ad blockers

like Ive heard of safari browers and you mentioned brave
we already have 3 browers on the computer
can I add yet another one
I was having this same issue a few months ago and someone here suggested firefox
which I put on and as of right now its the only one of the three thats working
so Im doing a rewards on FF
on the dis on chrome and I have on edge another one of the rewards just to write here
whats all coming up
but if its ok to have 3 browers I might add another one

You said Safari. Do you have a MAC? If so, that's a totally different animal. I don't do MACs. I don't know anything about them.
If it's a PC, yes, you can install multiple browsers without any problems. I normally use Brave, but I also like Avast Secure Browser.

sorry just me again I clicked on the locked pad lock I dont think is was ever closed before
usually its open and says non secure
like the one Im doing on FF has a red line going through the lock
also when I click on the lock conncection is secure
but if this is on for security it should probably stay on right?
interesting now I signed into the site I was doing on FF which was the one with the lock closed
and signed on to it on edge and same thing I cant click on the ads
this just changed cause yesterday I had no issues at all until last night
anything else I can try
even now on this site the lock in the upper left is closed

our is just a PC since Im really bad with computers I dont know what the difference even is
sorry for all the questions but it just bugs me when things work one day and not the next
and things change by themselves
the reason I mentioned safari is at one time I had it on a basic tablet I had it came already on the tablet

I'm pretty much tapped out without being able to go through settings and see what's happening. As far as things changing overnight it happens all the time. There's always some kind of security patch or software update going on. Hopefully somebody will pop in with some fresh ideas and come up with the magic bullet for you. Good luck!

Ive come to realize that this is some sort of blocker just because of what changed and what stayed the same meaning starting with firefox that I added a few months ago with the help of those here since I was having the same issue just a little different but bascially the same

so firefix works like it did up in the adress bar where I type in the name of the rewards I want to do theres a padlock with a red line through it and a shield next to it Im assuming the shield is some sort of blocker when I open that I tried to turn off the blocker with the opens but nothing works

onto edge this one has a padlock thats closed not like firefox but heres where I get stuck I cant find anything to change that
the strange part I know the padlocks were open for months since I would notice it

sorry I know Im talking in circle but it just bugs when things are changed and you dont find out about it until you try to do something you were always able to do and all of a sudden it doesnt work and you have no clie how to get it back like who to call

sites that were working with firefox now I cant get in them
I try to log in and get invaid log in
so I have them send me my log in info
when I try that again invalid
something strange is going on and I dont like it
why does things keep changing when you dont ask for anything
like before seems like Im getting blocked from what worked just the other day oh well

I am sorry you are having so many problems. I tried using Firefox for a while but didn’t like it myself, so I don’t have a lot of insight into how to fix issues with that particular browser. Hopefully someone with some more experience will come along and give you the help you need.

whatever I go into now I have to type in my password some Ive had to reset
anyways I tried downloading
brave browser
unfortunatly it didnt work I was hoping it would work like firefox
so now my new question is
how do I unstall it

You can leave Brave on. It works well and doesn't hurt anything. To Uninstall go to start, settings, applications, add-remove programs. Find Brave and uninstall from there.

Thanks so much for all the advice. Stratman50. I really appreciate it. But great news. I clicked on the lion in the right corner and there was something
actually Ive have time to go through some of this on brave and I clicked on the lion and it comes up with a few options so I tried a few
what I found out is if I click on to have shields up my rewards dont work
but if I change it to shields down works just fine like firefox has been

the only thing that Im just a bit concerned about is it mentions things about not being a secure site
but in all the years Ive been doing these I dont think they were ever a secure site and I never ran into any issues
like since I added firefox it has the padlock with a line through it
and it actually says site is not secure
so I guess Im set now for awhile I hope
right now it seems like I have to sign back into my rewards sites and one site I cant do at all
when I put in my email to have them send me the to log in it says it was sent but I never get it
I did contact the person that runs it so hopefully shell get back to me soon
but one the plus side and this is a huge plus
the sites are loading so much faster
so I can get so much more done
