Computer Geeks--help please!

As the head homie of the Rainbow Homies (cheerleaders for The Rainbow Connection over on WPASADI) I decided to use Fortunecity.com to host the cheerleader website. However, right now when I log into my account, open the filemanager and try to edit the homepage file, whatever windows I have open freeze up and it's difficult to get them to close.

WHY on earth is this happening to me? I haven't had any problems with Fortunecity before this and it can't be a virus/adware/malware/whatever because I have a virus scanner, which hasn't turned up anything malicious/dangerous.

Ugh. This is really annoying.

to start with-just cause you have a virus scanner-that only picks up viruses-not spyware and trojan programs-you should be running lava soft ad aware and spy bot search and destroy or some other spy ware also-
But it could be caused by a number of things-problems on the server-database threads that lock up on your computer-the addition of some security features to servers by your ISP-cookies in your computer-ugh i could goo on and on\-but the most likely reason is you have picked up some kind of spy program or you have hung data base threads-the first is easy to fix-the second will usually cure itself-when it occurs do a control alt delete and look at your CPU usage and processes-hung threads will push those really high-if you know which processes cause it you can end them manually and resolve the issue that way.
