I can't get Outlook Express to open at all. I've restarted the computer several times and still it won't open. The last time we got into it it froze and we had to do "end task". But this has happened before and we've been able to get back in. We double click on it and the hourglass stays for a few seconds then goes away and it never opens. Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

sounds like one or more of your files needed for Outlook Express to open has either become corrupted, or was deleted by accident.

I would do uninstall OE, and re-install it:

1. Start - Settings - Control Panel (depending on which ver. of Win you have)
2. Add/Remove Programs
3. Select Outlook Express, and remove it.
4. Restart computer
5. Get your Windows CD handy...and go back to Control Panel
6. Add/Remove Programs - and re-install OE

It could also be something as simple as a changed setting in your dialup connection when you access it using your ISP. I've had that problem with regular Outlook many times - and have had to get our IT guys to fix it.

Before removing I have one suggestion. This happened many times on my old computer and when something like that happened, I would start my computer and then go to open Outlook. Then I would walk away and do something else. It would be that Outlook was just slow in loading because of the end task/freeze and it would take literally a few minutes to load. So if you haven't given that a try, then do so first. After I got it to load, it would be okay on the subsequent times I would open it. Good luck :)
