computer cookie help

I am trying to access a page on the college website I am attending and keep getting this

Browser Cookies Disabled
This installation of Blackboard Learning System TM (Release 6) requires the acceptance of a cookie by your browser software. The cookie is used to ensure that you and only you are able to access information in the courses, assessments, gradebooks and other features which are appropriate for you.
The system has been unable to place the cookie. This may be because cookies are disabled in your browser.

To enable cookies in your browser:

Select Internet Options from your browser's Tools Menu
Select the Advanced Tab.
Scroll down to the 'Cookies' Section under 'Security', and select either the first or last option - either 'Prompt before Accepting Cookies' or 'Always Accept Cookies'.
Click 'Apply' and 'Ok' to close the Internet Options dialog box.
Click 'Ok' on this page to return to Blackboard Learning System TM (Release 6).

Problem is- there is no option under internet options....running XP with service pack 2

Try Tools, Internet Options, Privacy.

You should see a slider bar, you can move it from high to low. On "high", you're not accepting any cookies. I'd try medium to start with.

If you are running XP Professional Edition, you may need to be logged in as administrator in order to make such changes. I know that our work computers (running XP Pro) are locked down pretty tightly and as such it is not always possible for us to change certain settings, especially those pertaining to security.

Got tabs, and have everything except where it says "enable cookies" or "cookies okay" or whatever. under security

I know I have cookies enabled, only because when I come here, for instance, I'm logged in....???
