Is there somthing I need to change in my email settings??...Outlook Express 6......My MIL keeps sending me stuff with pictures but all I get is the "infamous" red X's

Thanks
Lisa

What exactly is she sending?

If it's something other than .gifs or .jpgs (and maybe .bmps), you aren't going to be able to see them in OE. You'll have to save the attachments to your hard drive and open them in a paint program.

how do I figure out what they are??....she is more or less, just forwarding mail that she got...and she has outlook express too...for some reason I just get the x's

Thanks

I suppose you could right click on the red x and look at the properties, I suppose that would work in email too.

nativetexan......I tried that...doesn't work...also tried to do what we do on the threads here when they are red x's.....and it doesn't work

Thought it is just kinda weird....thought there may be some setting thingy to change

thanks]
Lisa

Lisa, when you open the e-mail (so it is in a new window). Do you have a line right beneath the subject that says "attach"? I just opened my OE 6 and saw that. If you look there you will see the file name and then the extention. You should be able to tell what file type it is right there.
