My family has been offered a complimentary night at a deluxe resort, due to some issues we had to address during our last stay on property. I am wondering if anyone else who has received a complimentary night can tell me if care is taken to avoid a repeat of the problems that resulted in the offer of compensation to begin with. I must be clear that I am NOT looking for additional compensation, upgrades, etc. I am simply wondering if it is noted on the reservation or handled in some other way so that we don't encounter the same types of issues.

I would not expect them to read your mind and would just politely make your request when you check in so they are sure they can address, or if not, why.

Well, I would never expect anyone to be a mind reader, and that was why I asked if these things are noted on the reservation. I was given a special number to call to redeem the complimentary night, and the person I spoke with was aware of what the problems were, one being a serious safety issue. I didn't know if this information would then be relayed to the resort at the time of our stay. Was hoping someone who had experienced this might know.

We once checked into a room that had a serious mold issue (corner of a bathroom, under a sink, generally out of sight). Before they moved us, a manager inspected our new room. Hope that helps.

I would hope so because with us seems are disney history is uploaded when we make and check into the resort! If it was a real concern and it sounds that way I would call and speak to the resort manager before leaving on trip!! I hope this helps you in some way and I hope that everything works out for you!:)

Thanks! I think I will call before we arrive. I'm optimistic we will have a good stay and am very much looking forward to it!

I think whatever problem you had will be noted somehow and care will be taken that its not repeated during your next stay. At least that was my experience about 14 years ago.

We got a complementary night last year for an issue we had at a trip earlier in the year. When we got to the resort we were immediately met outside the entrance and escorted to the concierge level. We got a room with a great view and they went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. We got free chocolates delivered one night and extra attentive service for our whole stay. I doubt we would have gotten any of this without there being some kind of notation on our reservation.

I've stayed cl without having any prior issues and got the same as you. That's just cl the chocolates meeting outside etc.

Just know that you're getting a call center and not the actual resort you think you're calling. It is very, very difficult to speak to a resort manager (or anyone who actually works for the resort, for that matter) until you are actually on Disney property. Call the reservations line and make note of whatever issue you dealt with before and confirm it again with the front desk when you check in.

We were offered two complimentary nights at any deluxe resort due to some issues on our trip. I think my DD is going to use them. From the tone the manager had when I spoke to her I believe that she will have noted the issues. If DD decides to go I will check back here and update.

Make sure you use the number you received in your letter to redeem the night. That number is for a manager at the resort where you stayed during the problem. And yes, they do make extensive notes in your file so that CM's can review them or in our experience the manager actually assigned our room and added the night onto another reservation. Make sure you take the letter with you and double check your folio upon checkout (if staying additional nights) to make sure you were not charged for that one night.

Do not call the reservation center or you will just get anybody. In our experience they bend over backwards when you receive a complimentary night.
